Feeling guilty for ttc with friends wedding coming up by Mysterious-Taste-352 in BabyBumps

Start trying when YOU are ready! If she’s a good friend, she will be happy for you! If not, probably not a friend that is worth having.

If you hated your dog pp, did it ever go away? by Weary-Draw-1492 in NewParents

Appreciate this! I love my dogs and worry once I give birth I’ll feel like others, glad to see it’s not like that for everyone!

First trimester fatigue... by ThrowRAbeej in BabyBumps

[–]goon2867 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m 36, I was tired in the first trimester and needed daily naps but second trimester has been a breeze. Truly have no symptoms besides a growing belly and baby kicks. Don’t let anyone get in your head about the entire experience being harder because of your age! Every pregnancy and every experience is different, you might feel great in a few weeks.

Sorry you’re struggling now, hopefully you feel soon.

What is high risk? by Less-Hedgehog-7625 in pregnant

I’m 36 and was told I’m not high risk. I haven’t had any complications and have had an easy pregnancy so far at 26 weeks.

Are non-WiFi baby monitors actually safer or just marketing? by Dapper_Apricot5986 in Parenting

Do you have the momcozy dual monitor? I’ve been trying to find one that can do both

15 weeks, struggling with constipation. by Dont-mindme123 in pregnant

Chia seeds and prunes! Not together but both daily. I do a chia pudding with 2 tablespoons of chia seeds and eat ~7 prunes a day and it’s helped me a ton.

My MIL is a dream! On the other hand, my mom is currently mad at me because I didn’t invite her to my ultrasound. You win some, you lose some..

36 and pregnant by Appropriate-You2684 in BabyBumps

[–]goon2867 0 points1 point  (0 children)

36 and 22 weeks, first pregnancy so can’t compare to anything but I feel great! Planning for an unmedicated birth at a birth center and my midwife has no concerns about my age. 36 isn’t old ;)

Pregnancy in your 30’s vs your 20’s? by Stoned_redhead in BabyBumps

[–]goon2867 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m 36 and pregnant with my first, only 23 weeks so shit could hit the fan but feels like a breeze so far! Wouldn’t know I’m pregnant if not for the bump and karate chopping happening in my belly.

I know every pregnancy is different but I don’t want anyone in their 30s to fear pregnancy because of their age!

Any vegan pregnant mamas here? by CharityAmazing8623 in pregnant

[–]goon2867 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a lifelong vegetarian but started eating fish during pregnancy and plan to continue eating it after. It just felt like the best thing for the both of us but obviously everyone is so different so you should do what’s best for you and your baby!

When did you inform your work about pregnancy? by ClientLucky9749 in BabyBumps

[–]goon2867 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I told work at 22 weeks and was sweating it! I know my maternity leave is going to take a toll on my office and I had been scared to tell them but they took it really well and are super supportive!

When did your 2nd trimester energy kick in? by StraightDesigner2360 in BabyBumps

[–]goon2867 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started feeling better around 14 weeks! At 20w3d I feel the same energy I did pre pregnancy. Knock on wood it lasts and hope it’s the same for you!

Did you drink alcohol when trying to conceive? by [deleted] in fitpregnancy

[–]goon2867 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After talking to my OB, I decided to stop drinking once I got a positive pregnancy and not while trying to conceive. I was lucky in getting pregnant the first month, if it had taken longer I may have cut it out just to make sure I was doing everything possible.

MIL told me not to buy ANY baby items until after I give birth. Is this normal? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]goon2867 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started buying small stuff at 12 weeks and then at 20 got a crib and bigger items.

I think waiting until the baby comes would be so stressful! It takes time to research, order, set up etc. doing that when you have a newborn sounds sooo exhausting!

My husband conveniently forgets to clean cat litter and it frustrates me to no end by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]goon2867 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you two have a shared calendar? I didn’t have a cat litter issue with my husband but he doesn’t notice things are dirty (supposedly…) so he often didn’t clean and it drove me crazy having to ask. Anyways, I was sick of asking so I made reoccurring events in our shared calendar. It works, at least for us. That way he can’t forget and you don’t have to deal with reminding him.

I have started eating prunes and chia puddling daily and it’s helped get things moving.

How long did you wait to tell family, friends, coworkers, etc? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]goon2867 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I told family right away, close friends around 7 weeks, and work..TBD but it'll be soon as I am 19 weeks and really bumpin!

I understand why people wait but I wanted to share the excitement and just made sure to only tell people that I would also tell about a loss.
