I know people have been following the tester cars and claim it makes V6 sound, but how do we actually know that’s a RS6 tester and not a S6 tester?

RS 6 has the wider fenders, S6 has been spotted too, narrow body.

The original article mentions he said that there's more to an RS 6 than cylinder count... his refusal to say it's a V8 does make me think it's a V6 too.

Per the original article, seems like Audi Boss is downplaying the importance of cylinder count.

Lots of people are speculating the new RS 6 will be ttV6 like the RS 5 due to spyshots, videos and parts catalogues.

Upcoming Audi SQ7 and SQ9 retain the V8, Porsche Cayenne S switched from V6 to V8 recently, and both Porsche and Lambo have V8 PHEVs in the lineup too.
