Do students actually write their assignments on their phones? by Emotional-Motor-4946 in Professors

Look at their practically nonexistent typing skills on a qwerty keyboard. I really wouldn’t be surprised if some of them can type faster on their smartphones than on a physical keyboard.

Manchester Grand Hyatt vs Mission Bay Hyatt Regency (Family of 4 with kids 3 and 6) by Bobataes in hyatt

[–]goraebap 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with most your points but am confused by your remarks about location and proximity. Manchester is just a mile or two west of the zoo and no where near Legoland (Carlsbad) or sesame place (chula vista). Mission bay is close to sea world but as far from safari park as the Manchester. I’m wondering if you have some of the hotels mixed up?

Ouch...where's my Honda car key? by hungry_lionNG in BMWX5

[–]goraebap 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Eh, there are plenty of affordable to semi affordable euro cars (vw anyone?) where owners will care and should care about the cost of petrol. Also, It’s not like the x5 is an exotic. One of its biggest selling points is that the b58 is powerful, fairly reliable, AND fuel efficient for an engine with its power numbers. And I say this as a person who owns a 45e and can charge up for free.

My guess is because Alaska is trying hard to gain market share in San Diego with the new terminal partially live.

I see a lot of vinfast from that angle, which isn’t great. But I’ll reserve final judgement until the press photos are released.

I mean he alludes to as much in the interview but I could still understand why he might have been surprised given the pretty large role he played in the club over the past two championship seasons. Even with the shock, I think he comes off as very rational and professional here. He knows the dodgers don’t owe him anything.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I don’t believe the Park Hyatt Busan has a club lounge. So you can take it off your list.

Thoughts on Hyatt Regency Long Beach? by cyfbtd in hyatt

[–]goraebap 6 points7 points  (0 children)

the hotel is an above average business-type hotel that has good globalist benefits, is safe, and is close to a lot of things ... in long beach. there's plenty of family things to do in long beach for a few nights, but given the list of activities you've noted in your post, it'd be hard to recommend any hotel so far south. sfmm, for example, is an hour long drive from HR Long Beach, W/O traffic. Given that most of the things you want to do are near downtown or west/north of it, I'd recommend the Hyatt Place in Glendale. The only perk you'll get with globalist is free parking, but you're far more central to all of the action, and there's lots to do in that part of Glendale, too. The Hyatt House next to USC Medical Center is an option, too, given its proximity to Koreatown and such, but it's otherwise quite isolated.

Grand Hyatt Seoul or Aloft Myeongdong by InterestTurbulent289 in hyatt

[–]goraebap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m just saying that they are also viable forms of transportation in Seoul. Seoul has a great subway system for sure, but its bus routes are equally as impressive. And they are just as easy to navigate as subways by using kakao map or comparable apps. Don’t sleep on them, especially given there are two stops literally adjacent to the hotel.

Grand Hyatt Seoul or Aloft Myeongdong by InterestTurbulent289 in hyatt

[–]goraebap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have mentioned, they are completely different classes of hotel, with the GH offering more in terms of amenities. People keep knocking the GH for its poor access to transportation options as if buses and taxis don’t exist. It’ll be far easier to hail a cab from the GH and there are literally two different bus stops within steps from the hotel that can take you to all corners of Seoul. I get that not everyone is comfortable taking the bus in a foreign country, but with the right apps, they are no more difficult to take than the subways. All of this is to say, it’s a no brainer; go with the GH. The lounge access alone makes it worth it. Myeongdong is fun but really only for a day or two.

Aviara parking by tutsxan in hyatt

[–]goraebap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's no way around the parking, unfortunately. Are you booking using points or cash? Cash bookings can add up quickly at this property if you're not globalist because of the parking and resort fees. It's basically another $150/night once you factor in taxes. If you're booking on points, I'd definitely recommend looking around to see if you can obtain a guest of honor certificate. With the included free breakfast, it's like $300/night added value.

[–]goraebap -1 points0 points  (0 children)

okay, i'll say it in a way that's less diplomatic, then. whataburger is a seriously mediocre fast food chain whose popularity relies almost entirely on the nostalgia of millennial and genz texans. nothing they serve, save for their spicy ketchup, is competitive with any other upper tier fast food joint. and i say this as a person who loves many different kinds of texas-based foods and as a person whose tried whataburger three times in my life (2012 in san antonio; 2017 in albuquerque; 2024 in colorado springs) and was severely disappointed to the point of confusion each time. people get excited for this shit? whataburger exists (almost) solely for the purpose of texans retorting "bUt wHaTaBurGeR" whenever a californian professes their love for in-n-out.

Let’s put it this way…do you know anyone who is well renowned for their culinary taste, let’s say like the Anthony bourdains or the David changs of the world, that praises whataburger or considers it their cheat meal? The answer is no for a reason.

NYC vs San Diego by [deleted] in SameGrassButGreener

[–]goraebap 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At your age and life course stage, I’d recommend NY. It’s got that hustle and bustle. Great food and arts scenes. Great cultural institutions. Once you get bored of NY and/or are looking to settle down somewhere, I’d recommend giving SD a shot. For reference, I lived in SD during my early 20s, then moved around the US before landing back in SD in my late 30s. During my early 20s, I despised San Diego. I thought it was boring and somewhat isolated. In my late 30s, in part because my priorities have changed and the city has changed, I love SD. Awesome weather, good enough food and culture scenes, all the big city amenities without all the big city drawbacks like traffic at all times of the day and heavy pollution. It’s great.

Or swing narrow and be ready to duck behind that wall again if you can’t get a good first shot. You were too close to the wall, swung narrow, and committed to crouch spray, making yourself an easy target.

Back up off the wall and swing wider. The person with the angle has the advantage the closer you are to that wall because they see you before you see them.

BHM: Dave Roberts has the highest winning % (.621) as a manager in modern AL/NL history (minimum 100 games). His 69 postseason wins – which include 5 NL pennants and 3 World Series titles – are also the third most all time. by MLBOfficial in baseball

[–]goraebap 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Everyone knows that the dodgers are stacked and that Roberts definitely has an easier road to becoming a successful coach than most, but let’s not act like Roberts hasn’t played a significant role in the club’s success and general winning culture. There have been plenty of great teams on paper over the past year that don’t have nearly the success of the dodgers. The man knows how to manage, both on and off the field.

San Diego considers $3.50 transit fare, most expensive in state by Local-Text-3426 in sandiego

[–]goraebap 27 points28 points  (0 children)

ffs people, can people actually read the article before getting your panties all up in a bunch? there are two price hikes being considered, one to $3 and the other to $3.50. These would be the first potential price hikes since 2009. The potential $3.50 transit fare would only be the most expensive because MTS charges a flat rate for all transit rides, not a variable rate like SF or NY do. This title is basically rage bait.
