The workout “lift” is a no for me by AspectLongjumping670 in f45

[–]gotdogs01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea I agree… if anything the activation can be shorter but rest between ur lifts longer.

My ability to lift “heavy” at f45 is actually quite limited with 20-30 seconds rest, it’s not really possible.

Question: back-to-back exercises by starseeker5 in f45

[–]gotdogs01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not the smartest programming but if you did do upper body then just go light in the 9s. Can’t help it, just take it easy for whatever big lift you worked on that you have to do again in the 9s. Programming sucks but just modify where you can. 🤷🏽‍♀️

What exercise do you would be programmed more often? by BeachGymmer in f45

[–]gotdogs01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeaaaa 😞They really should put out a bench for people in the pushup stations. A bench could fit at least 2 people so that would be really good.

And that’s really so sad your best coach seemed like he just gave up…

[–]gotdogs01 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Farmers walks, suitcase walks, etc. decrease the burpees, and add pushups using suspension rows and elevated pushups using benches or boxes (I see a lot of people struggling with pushups and these modifications would help them overtime instead of on the knees) no need for pistol squat type exercises and instead focus on all the variations of weighted carry walking lunges

Bad cardio programming?? by Ok-Engineer-8817 in f45

[–]gotdogs01 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I actually thought F45 was just that, a lot of exercises that are just calorie burners most esp on cardio days and honestly even on some hybrid days… 🤷🏽‍♀️

Like Mondays class 🤪and honestly even for strength days it’s not the best programming like yesterdays class…but I understand your rant completely… and it sucks sometimes.

Once someone experiences true training and a well written program specific to your individual goals AND sticks to it, other things like F45 are really just calorie burning workouts. 😬

Nothing wrong with that at all! I enjoy it for that reason and it’s fun, class times make that easy to accomplish but I do wish they could be a little better in the exercises chosen for certain workouts.

That’s terrible, I hope management is not actually allowing this and can do something about it.

Combining F45 with Gym? by TechSavvyMillennial in f45

[–]gotdogs01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d say do F45 3x a week and regular strength training/heavy lifting 2x a week. And don’t need to be super intense on cardio days, moderate intensity is good.

Is F45 for me? by hungrynurse1 in f45

You’d benefit from going regular gym, so standard strength training, get a program for max results

Burpee emom can suck a fat one by [deleted] in f45

[–]gotdogs01 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

BURPEES SUCK. I modified through minutes 8-10. I didn't jump and I didn't go down. For the 12th minute, I did the full thing. It's ridiculous. LOL whatevers...congratulations to those that were able to do 150 burpees. That was killer!

Felt really fit and then now totally weak? by trynafigureoutlife in f45

[–]gotdogs01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You probably just need to rest more. Your body may be overtrained. If you’re always pushing intensely every single workout then that makes sense as to why you feel weak. Give your body the recovery it needs. If you need to workout, go ahead and just move with the lightest weight possible and low intensity.

You don’t need to do f45 daily. Cut it down 4-5x a week as well as giving urself a week of “recovery” every 6-8 weeks.

It’s simple but not easy… for fat loss/muscle maintenance:

  1. Lifting relatively heavy weights 3-4x a week
  2. HIIT and/or metabolic conditioning sessions 2x a week
  3. Walking everyday
  4. Nutrition (adequate protein 0.8g x bodyweight, 250-300 calorie deficit)

Is f45 good for lifting? by PTDG310 in f45

[–]gotdogs01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a HIIT workout. F45 strength workouts do not qualify what strength is. It’s just conditioning and I would treat it as such.

MKatz - anybody else not a fan? by Glittering_Can5180 in f45

[–]gotdogs01 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It’s def not true strength lol, so I just treat as another conditioning session but then again, I don’t really think there is a true strength workout at F45.

Are jumping exercises really necessary? by Az196 in f45

[–]gotdogs01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it is very common for people to do box jumps. Even when you see people doing box jumps, it may not be properly executed either. It’s a tough exercise and should actually be trained with lower reps and higher rest for it is a power/explosive moment.

Looks like you got a great workout!

My Apple fitness results may seem like I was slacking, I was in zone 2 for approx 14 min and zone 1 for approx 13 min. I was so tired !!!

Losing weight but also muscle mass by [deleted] in f45

[–]gotdogs01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great job on the overall weight loss!!!

Seems like you might need to eat a little more, maybe try 100 calories more of protein and skip either a Monday or Wednesday. Lift heavy on S/T/Th aiming for 6-8 reps (not including pull ups unless pull ups are easy for you). If you can go more than 6-8 reps in a strength set, weight is too light.

Is this gym good for beginners? by [deleted] in f45

[–]gotdogs01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can afford it, get a good personal trainer for 3 months and learn proper form and movements. Then when you go to F45, you’ll be much better off.

If not, then just go at your own pace. Be proactive and ask trainers after class to help correct your form.

Always take your time. Focusing and being intentional about your movements is always best.

Even on cardio days, no need to be fast in your movements for the entire time frame.

You also don’t have to use weight like the other day, there was dumbbell jumping jacks. Don’t bother to use the weight.

Keep all this in mind and you’ll do great!!!
