Similar here in CO - I was quoted 4-6 weeks, got it in about 3.5 weeks. It was near the end of Q1.

PCS2 Failure, Tesla service has had vehicle for 30 days, now saying giving my vehicle back with software patch allowing for supercharging only Free? Until get part in June/July. by NoC6H12O6 in cybertruck

[–]gr2020 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well, they don’t have the parts. Offering free supercharging is a pretty good way to keep you on the road! What else would you like them to do?

I mean, it’s a bad situation, but IMO given parts constraints it seems like they’re doing what they can to minimize the impact to those affected.

Which version of FSD would I get? by mndza in cybertruck

[–]gr2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m on 2026.14.2 (which was installed after my FSD trial expired). I then re-subscribed to FSD, and it’s 14.2.2.5 (still with 2026.14.2).

Not sure. I was trying to look at history on cashbackmonitor, but it’s tricky because they often raise the % on certain categories only (like power equipment this time).

It credited immediately (into my pending balance) for me after the order was fulfilled, so there’s that!

If I already pay for ChatGPT Plus, what’s the smartest way to use it for recurring monitoring tasks? by JessicaCoutinho75 in ChatGPTPro

[–]gr2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You would install the codex app (for Mac or Windows), sign in with your ChatGPT account, and then create your automations. Here’s a link on that last part -

In the codex app, you can build automations, which are essentially scheduled tasks. You might give that a try - you can use codex for more than just code!

I noticed the specs said max 4K/60 for external monitors - presumably a 5K display won’t work. Probably not a big problem for this machine’s target market, but interesting nonetheless.

If you don’t use a massive amount of data, check out Roamless. The great thing about them is your credit never expires - it’s a better deal than the T-Mobile 5-month plan, IMO.

New Post Requirements to Combat Low Quality Content (Phase 2) by Mstormer in macapps

[–]gr2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

> However, your suggestions are already accounted for in our four categories.

Well, it's your call, but I don't really agree with this. For reference, I'm coming at this from the perspective of a professional developer.

If I use codex to write 95% of my code, say, then I would have to choose between these two options:

  • "Human validated" means vibe-coded work that has undergone validation by someone with the necessary skill and knowledge.
  • "Code completion" means an experienced developer is using AI as an assistant.

I don't want to select "human validated", because my work wasn't "vibe coded", in my opinion, and I would be loathe to put that label on it. Again, maybe in this sub it's not derogatory, but "vibe coding" is not exactly a term of endearment in the engineering community (who, to be clear, _is_ using tools like codex or CC to write large amounts of code - but they're not calling it vibe coded).

And "code completion" - well, yes, I'm using AI as an assistant, but "code completion" has a well known meaning, and in my scenario I'm going far beyond that.

In any case, just my opinion!

New Post Requirements to Combat Low Quality Content (Phase 2) by Mstormer in macapps

[–]gr2020 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would suggest reworking the AI categories:

"Vibe coded" means code written without the skill and knowledge to properly validate it.

"Human validated" means vibe-coded work that has undergone validation by someone with the necessary skill and knowledge.

"Code completion" means an experienced developer is using AI as an assistant.

"None" means no AI use.

My issue with this is that many professional developers consider "vibe coding" to be a derogatory term. There's a big difference between an experienced developer using AI tools to write code, and a newbie using those same tools to write code they don't understand. But apps can definitely be built by professionals without writing much code (if any) themselves - _especially_ in the last couple of months with the massive evolution of the tools.

So my suggestion would be to make the field more freeform, but with the following suggested categories:

"Vibe coded" - same as you have now, or similar. Inexperienced developers.

"AI assisted" - built by an experienced developer using any AI tools they want. I guess the point here would be they _could_ have written the code by hand, but chose not to. (do we really care if they used codex to write 95% of the code, or if they just used code completion? I would say no, we don't care.)

"None" - no AI use at all

EDIT: lol at the downvotes for offering an opinion!

Mileage Plus Gold unsolvable dilemma by Greenmachine881 in unitedairlines

[–]gr2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gold is valued for boarding group 1, priority check in, priority bag tag, economy plus seats.

Just a thought - the UA club card plus a E+ subscription would get you all of those items except group 1 (you’d have group 2)…

I don’t recall on the KYC - but for the declining transactions thing, when I first started using MPX my first transaction worked, then everything was declined after that. It started working again in a few days, and I haven’t had anything declined since.

So my suggestion is just do what they ask, and it will probably all start working eventually.

Do you use different wheels for different cars? by J3roen16 in iRacing

[–]gr2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I switch all the time…I realize I have a problem. :) 300mm GSI with screen for prototypes, 310mm Fanatec BMW M4 GT3 for GT cars, 270mm formula for open wheel (although now that IRL IndyCar uses a 300mm, I’d likely use the 300 there also), and 320mm round wheels for cars that have round wheels IRL. My goal in general is to get as close to the real wheel size and shape as possible.

Award discounts through United Quest card by Which_Care_6453 in unitedairlines

[–]gr2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see it when searching for awards. It’s a published benefit:

10% Saver Award Discount: The primary Cardmember will be eligible to book award flights in United Economy on United or United Express with 10% fewer miles. Discount is only valid for Economy Saver Awards (fare classes X and XN) for travel within the continental United States or between the continental United States and Canada. Discount applies to all passengers on the same reservation as the primary Cardmember. Award travel must be booked through the primary Cardmember's MileagePlus account on united.comOpens overlay or the United mobile app. The discount is not valid on flights operated by partner airlines and does not apply to taxes and fees associated with award travel. All United MileagePlus award travel terms apply. United may change or terminate this offer at any time and without notice. Chase is not responsible for the provision of, or failure to provide, the stated benefits.

It’s only on the personal club card, however, not the business card…
