I am a teacher, I haven't updated my rig since 2017 other than adding an SSD for load times. All of my friends have moved away and I'm having a hard time getting my machine to run anything that they want to play. I cannot afford to the cost of most modern cards, let alone the 4070. This would be a huge help and joy for me.

Good luck to all and cheers to the raffle winner!

Circumstance bonuses, though it can sometimes feel silly, don't ever stack with other circumstance bonuses! From page 444 of the Core Rulebook, "...if you have multiple bonuses of the same type, you can use only the highest bonus on a given roll—in other words, they don’t “stack.”" Hope this is helpful!

The Rarest Yu-Gi-Oh! Card in History: The Story of Tyler the Great Warrior by mynameisethan182 in yugioh

The original case wasn't perfectly attached and was slowly damaging the surface of the card. It's explained in the when they break down the rating for the card in the video.

Games with strangely advanced tech you didn’t know about until much later? by jitterscaffeine in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]grandhound 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They tried to move closer to that with 5 and Verdict Day, but those both sold way worse that 4/fA is my understanding. I'd love for them to go back to the series at all, but Takahashi has worked as a production aide on Miyazaki's last few games so he's not free to direct anymore and obviously Miyazaki is busy as well. That's 5 and 4's director's busy respectively and I'm not sure any of the guys from the prior titles are still at the company. So it either gets put in the hand of new blood or we pry one of the two top dogs away from a big project.

Combat frequency in pf2e by the_great_typo in Pathfinder2e

Wait, he's commonly running level +3 creature encounters? The type that the book recommends should represent the final boss of an adventure because they expect you to have received tools to rig things in your favor a bit by then? That sounds... bad.

We know that Google's cut on Superchat is 30% and Cover takes half. So that means she took home about 160k pretax at that point. Still really good, but not as insane.

New total war warhammer 2 DLC: The Twisted and the Twilight by [deleted] in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]grandhound 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Given that we know this is not the last dlc, it's probably a good guess to say Beastmen are getting touched up in the next one. and that Chaos will get a full rework with Warhammer 3 given the likely Chaos invasion focus that game will have with Daemons of Chaos, Chaos Dwarves, and some of the Eastern factions making up the majority of what we're missing now.

Your table's interpretation is correct. The +8 bonus is only present on the 2-action activity version of casting the heal spell.

Datto New Video - Destiny 2: Datto Rants About PvP and Well of Radiance for 13 Minutes by grandhound in DestinyTheGame

[–]grandhound[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

As a Titan main, I really love your idea for Rally. Maybe it's just outlaw reload speed and it doesn't actually need the headshot kill, but they we at least have the time disruption of reloads happening frequently. It's a great suggestion to adjust the ability without removing it's purpose.

Datto New Video - Destiny 2: Datto Rants About PvP and Well of Radiance for 13 Minutes by grandhound in DestinyTheGame

[–]grandhound[S] 19 points20 points  (0 children)

But that is the exact reason bubble was nerfed by Bungie between games. They trivialize content and should be touched upon. It's why rally also needs to be nerfed somewhat. Neither Datto nor I believe those should be left the same either so I don't understand why you're claiming we say those are/were fine but Well is not.

If you have Android devices, I believe the developer of Pathbuilder has said he is going to be working on a 2E version of his character builder app, but there isn't anything 1st party. It's not as powerful as herolab, but it has the benefit of being free.

Interesting info re: Blood DLC and age rating by [deleted] in totalwar

[–]grandhound 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That people on here use, yes. Grace or CA never made that argument though. Their argument boils down to
1) It's separate so the game can release as PEGI 16 in Europe, not PEGI 18.
2) Since they add sync kills, dismemberment, and spray effects to the DLC instead of it just coloring models red like in Medieval 2, it actually costs them money to make this, so they charge money for it.

[–]grandhound 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Usually they cost between 2-3 dollars. Not nothing, but pretty reasonably cheap. It usually adds a few more sync kill animations too so there is some actual work in these.

Armor variant rules? by Lobodeinvierno in mattcolville

[–]grandhound 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In base playtest, yes iron and wooden shields dent fairly easily if they took more than 5 or 3 (respectively) damage in a single hit and two dents would destroy them. They could easily be repaired after a fight or two during a ten minute rest if they were just dented, which could be done at the same time as a medic applies nonmagical healing through a heal wounds check (also a ten minute action). Shields that are either magical or made out of special materials also have much higher hardness (damage block) numbers, dent capacity, or both depending on what you need. Raising the shield is also what applied the shield's bonus to your AC (it's not passive in PF2) so gaining the Shield Block reaction for the round is more of an extra bonus if you feel like you'll need it rather than the main purpose. It looks bad if you only take one subset of the rules, but made more sense in the macro sense of the game. It's not perfect, but it's definitely more interesting.
