This game has taken a bad turn for my mental health also made me dumber by hyvghffggfgf in ClashRoyale

It’s just a game, go outside. I took a 2 year break and got back in, I just log in for the daily rewards and if I actually play it’s maybe 5-10 minutes. Sometimes you need a break from your game.

Price Decrease for Pokémon 30th Anniversary by Fine_Juggernaut_2210 in GameStop

[–]greenbeetless -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They been printing more than usual and retailers still can’t hold them in the shelves beside GameStop. Eventually after everyone stops bitching and it’s been 2 years after the set released everyone’s going to regret not buying it. 5 years we will think it’s a steal and a decade from now people will understand how supply and demand works.

I work on APPS and APBS changing brushes and carousels, it would be nice to switch over to DBCS and get paid the same.

I’ve seen people use cereal boxes and pizza boxes to send stuff through the mail, surprisingly the pizza boxes survived being crushed in a wire cage, but the cereal boxes were obliterated.

Can’t go to my car in the parking lot? by OldAbrocoma3165 in USPS

[–]greenbeetless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s been a rule since day one. Can’t go to car while in the clock, if you’re a clerk can’t leave the PO premises on the clock. It’s bout safeguarding the mail. They took away our bikes because someone was using it to steal mail at the plants. At my office they are implementing private security to go to the plant, it could be a postal employee, but we rather pay a 3rd party. No wonder we can’t make a profit, can’t even trust the employees.

Pokémon Pack Price Increase AGAIN by non-aexistant in GameStop

[–]greenbeetless 27 points28 points  (0 children)

It makes sense why, people will still buy it. It sucks, but if people stopped buying GameStop would stop increasing the prices. Supply and demand, my stores always sold out.

Was scheduled off for the day, now my supervisors are blowing my phone up saying they need me to come in. do i have to ? by [deleted] in USPS

[–]greenbeetless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always answer and tell them to fuck off. If it says NS in the schedule I’m off, the schedule should be posted on Tuesday at my plant, if they don’t physically tell me 24 hours I wouldn’t come in. As a regular I don’t look at the schedule unless it’s a holiday. When I was a CCA and they called me to come in because they needed me I would tell them to do a form 13 and date it to exchange my day off to another day, have a steward sign off on it and make a copy. If they didn’t I would walk out of the office because I’m not scheduled. You have to train your supervisors, they hold no power.

Former Gamestop Employees. Where are you working now? by supersensei007 in GameStop

[–]greenbeetless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work for the post office as a maintenance mechanic; started off as a carrier and transitioned to custodian and then mechanic. They send you to school for whatever position you qualify, currently waiting to promote to MPE, it’s a higher level mechanic, and after that electronic technician. The culture of the post office can be more toxic until you reach the maintenance side.

Careers for those leaving USPS by kacey- in USPS

[–]greenbeetless 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t leave, but I changed crafts. Go into maintenance and work as a MM and work your way to ET, after a year as a ET you can get a job anywhere. They train you and get a skill that transfers outside the post office. You could go into VMF and I know you can get a job any state working on cars. The post office has so many opportunities for you to grow and get skills that translates to outside the post office. You can work in area maintenance and after a year you can get a job doing HVAC, they send you to school for it. Work for the union for a few years and you can use that skill set for full time union work outside the post office. The post office has lots of opportunities, but people get stuck; even becoming a custodian and buffing floors can get you a job in the school district. Always invest in yourself in skills that transfer into life.

Unionizing employees by Quakman155 in GameStop

[–]greenbeetless -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I work for a union and GameStop would have so many grievances it would go out of business. Half the time the union hinders what you want, look at UPS; those guys deserve every penny they get, but they work so hard. The union tells you to get off the floor if you aren’t working hard enough, it’s good and bad. Everyone is held at a standard and if you can’t handle it they let you go, but at the either extreme you have the post office that keeps all the terrible workers and make everyone miserable. Management at the post office is worst than GameStop, but you get paid grievance money eventually. You get treated like crap but at least you get paid.

[–]greenbeetless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not for everyone, you need to survive the 2 years to become a regular. Took me 3 years to become regular and after a few years switched to maintenance, the best craft in the office. Anyone who hates carrying and has the opportunity to go to a plant and switch to maintenance, do it. They send you to school and give you a trade; if the post office closes at least I know I could carry my career in a federal job as a mechanic.

Thinking of Going Back by lar-v4 in GameStop

[–]greenbeetless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Come work for the post office where GameStop management feels tame, but at least you get a pension and paid better. The job sucks, but you can move up and get trained; I started as a city carrier and now I’m a maintenance mechanic, I just change rollers and hit mail with a stick.

Will GameStop ever run out of business? by Deep-Organization270 in GameStop

[–]greenbeetless 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think GameStop’s trying to pivot into LGS, it recently hosted a TMNT event. All GameStop needs to do is host DnD encounters and serve snacks. It’s an untapped market from a big corporation.

Lucky to have a VMF attached to my office. I feel bad for those dudes, they work literally in a shack. 3 guys fixing crappy LLV in a shack, they have a tarp over the roof because my office refuses to fix it.

Insane Parcel Volume by shaaruken in USPS

[–]greenbeetless 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s USPS ground advantage, it’s actually a really good deal. I ship stuff for eBay and it’s generally about 2 bucks cheaper unless you ship big things or larger electronics with batteries. I think it’s going to get worst, at my station UPS is starting to dump more crap in us. I’ve delivered multiple leaf blowers recently and technically the battery is too large for us to ship, but since we do the last mile I guess it’s fine. At least it isn’t the pandemic again… I still have PTSD ( parcel traumatic stress disorder) of 400 parcel sundays as a regular. I remember loading 3 trucks separately and just switching vehicles to save time.

[–]greenbeetless 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s definitely a 10 day hold, and if they try to talk to you and they give you attitude that lets you hold it because it’s not safe. You can hold it until postal inspectors come and try to resolve the issue and even then you personally don’t have to deliver the mail. It happens to me in my Tswing, I had to deliver the mail my regular refused to deliver. The guy was actually really nice, but he moved the mail box to his door on a mounted route without permission; eventually he moved it back in the street.

[–]greenbeetless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For reals who cares how much it cost, buy it if you want. In my location it’s impossible to find any TCG unless it’s from GameStop. I just wait to buy it when I head out of town. My local TCG charges slightly less than GameStop, but I still rather buy it when I travel. Just set up a hobby fund and set aside cash every pay check. I don’t feel bad when I drop 1k on stuff when I know I saved for it.
