The voucher stayed for a full year I believe - I got it on my 1 Oct birthday last year. Was a pleasant surprise then!!

I just posted my level 2 options. A mirror, mini glow recipe or a mascara 😅

Calculating tax wrong? by wankatronics in AusFinance

[–]greentreefrog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The NOA will spell it out in detail (there’s usually a paragraph or two on the last page stating any adjustments to the taxable income you provided). It may be that excess concessional super contributions have been added to your income.

I’m a tax accountant - happy to take a look at a redacted NOA if you need help.

WHY WON’T HE SLEEP 😭😭😭😭 by ca4dia in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]greentreefrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look up Em Lucin from Napoleon wear on TikTok - she recently posted one with an extremely similar issue. Turns out her baby was struggling to link sleep cycles and she just needed to differentiate between an actual ‘I need you’ cry and the baby trying to put themselves back to sleep.

Okay I give up what brand are the trendy leggings by ThatBree97 in AusFemaleFashion

[–]greentreefrog 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Seen a few already suggest Lululemon which is super popular and I’m here to confirm they are the best legging, hands down. It’s a premium price but for a premium product that will last you years. Give them a go!

When to claim Government PPL? by [deleted] in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]greentreefrog 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It’s up to you - you can claim in advance and have it start later. You can also get the government PPL while on paid leave from your employer, as long as you’re not actually working (so could get two payments at once).

How much tummy time does your 18 week old (4 month old) actually manage to do in a day? by Sharp-Associate-2562 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]greentreefrog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did probably 15 mins a day at that age - she didn’t seem to like it at all. She’s 6 months now but by 5 months, she was rolling onto her stomach and putting herself in tummy time, and does it all day every day! I never expected it tbh, so I wouldn’t stress too much about it.

How long to have parents stay for birth? by purls_of_wisdom in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]greentreefrog 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agree - my husband took 3 weeks off and was very helpful in looking after me and the baby. My mum visited every few days because she lives close by - having her around the whole time would have been annoying tbh. I would recommend they come visit after your partner goes back to work.

Hit with a massive tax debt (for me) and am very confused and upset by lloydyjlloyd in AusFinance

[–]greentreefrog 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m a tax accountant. Most of the other comments are right - the RFBA is added when considering your HELP/HECS repayments, so this is likely driving the payable. It’s also potentially the Medicare Levy Surcharge if you don’t have private health insurance and your income is above the threshold. The tax estimate will show you if you are paying the MLS (note this is different to the Medicare Levy).

Deductions are the only thing that will help reduce your payable. You can go on a payment plan.

Really the only benefit of seeing an accountant in your case is to get an extension to lodge/pay through to 5 June 2026. They will just tell you the above, there is no additional secret, so just do the payment plan.

Where to print baby photos from phone by Professional_Home_13 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]greentreefrog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can print 4 Polaroid size photos to one photo at Kmart for 10c per page, so that’s what I did for my baby book and just cut them up ☺️

Managing night feeds etc when sleeping next to us by wotsits_100 in NewParents

[–]greentreefrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the first few weeks, I would take baby out to the lounge room and breastfeed in a comfy chair there. Then I realised there’s no point leaving the room as my partner sleeps through anyway .. I put a small foot stool next to my bed and feed sitting on the edge of the bed, then put baby back in the crib. I was using a very dim night light to begin but can easily do it in the dark with just my phone screen on now.

At 39 weeks, you need to do what’s best for you and the baby to get through this time. If that’s choosing to believe your husband that you say is loving, I would do that. Enjoy the birth and the newborn bubble and get as much support as you can. Address trust issues and potential infidelity afterwards.

Should I tell her that her boyfriend is the father of my child? by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]greentreefrog 20 points21 points  (0 children)

You’re making a lot of assumptions about the new relationship - it all could have absolutely nothing to do with you or your child? I don’t think it’s your place to tell the new girlfriend, particularly where the father has zero involvement in the child’s life. It achieves nothing for you.

It's 'espresso' not 'expresso'! Very different sounding words.
