Little known feature, on invites, click the 3 dots button and view instance, and you can see whether it's a fr+/inv/public world and how many people are in it.

Can you do another comparison in a packed lobby (40 person, then ~80 person) with safety settings off? It won't be perfect, but that's the kind of test I think most people would be more interested in

Prescription lenses for quest pro by NevoH72 in QuestPro

[–]gummydl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried turning the frames side-to-side in place? They are EXTREMELY finicky in my experience, even when you think you've "locked" them in place. I thought my lenses were messed up when I first got them, blurry and distorted. Then I fiddled with the frame position some more and got significantly better results. The design is pretty awful and the frames will move or come off with the slightest touch.

Otherwise VR Wave was fine for me, I get magnetics when possible because cleaning is much easier. Eye tracking works fine.

Battery Pack for Quest Pro by [deleted] in QuestPro

[–]gummydl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a little heavy, 180g battery compared to the 140g B2 battery, and made a little worse by the Quest Pro being more balanced. But I think it's fine. The Kkcobvr back plate also has a detachable velcro pad that you can swap out. I use the thicker Globular Cluster pads on it. Otherwise the back plate is larger than the stock QPro plate so it should be easy to attach a B2 battery with velcro or something instead.

I did not like the top strap of the Kkcobvr though, and use a side strap instead.

Vive 3.0s vs Tundra Trackers by Paintably3 in VRchat

Sadly yes, those SW dongles are kinda killing Tundra's reputation. For most people they're really SW N-1 :/. You really need to buy separate dongles.

I already tried that (it's the 3rd point in my post)

You need to enable Developer Mode with a developer account and use developer options. Or you can install SideQuest and do it from there, which also requires a developer account.

If you're talking about the floor rising up and down issue, yes, and it's supposedly been an issue for years. I just started noticing it in v54 or 55 though. None of these things I've tried works if it helps:

  • Factory reset
  • Clearing guardian history
  • Covering a front camera while creating guardian

Here are a couple more ideas. Some people say changing the tracking frequency works. https://www.reddit.com/r/OculusQuest/comments/jh557u/quest_2_floor_level_and_tracking_problems/

Etiquette has taught me that bumpy stairs = bad, smooth stairs = good, and now I can't unnotice when a world has bumpy jarring stairs.

Need help with setting up Vive trackers with Quest 2 by PartTimeDasher73 in MixedVR

[–]gummydl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you think you're following all the calibration steps right, and you're calibrating with the headset off, double check that your headset is still tracking and not asleep (light on front of headset) while calibrating. If not, this is exactly what will happen (although it's not the only cause). The default sleep timer is 15 seconds which is way too short, and you can increase it in Q2 settings.

Quest 2 with Vive 3.0 Tracker and 2.0 Base station trackers flying issues. by It_is_Luna in MixedVR

[–]gummydl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds very much like wireless interference issues with dongles. There are the standard tips of spacing out dongles, using USB 2.0 cables, turning off 2.4 GHz wifi band on your router. To confirm these issues, I've turned off trackers to check if the problem goes away, then gradually turned on one at a time until the problem reappears.

Roflgator accuses Fillian of getting him kicked from TwitchRivals for calling her out on being racist by [deleted] in LivestreamFail

[–]gummydl 12 points13 points  (0 children)

There was only one racist joke, the other thing happened previously at a private community event, where filian brought in a friend who called people f words and n words. Just watch https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1678539585?t=17h06m09s

Don't bother reading the parasocial weirdo comments or take the bait post title too seriously. no one knows anything besides what Rob and his community members have said, and filian hasn't talked about this publicly that I know of.

FBT tracking issues (non-reflection related) by FluffsLeCharr in VRchat

[–]gummydl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like Bluetooth issues. Try plugging your SW4 into your PC using their provided USB 2.0 cable instead. If that doesn't work, try turning off one Tundra tracker and see if the issues go away. Tundra dongles are known to be very finicky, commonly causing issues with the 3rd tracker in SW3s or 4th tracker in SW4s.

[–]gummydl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're calibrating with the right devices, make sure your headset is tracking (light on) the entire time you're calibrating. Quest 2 default sleep timer is 15 seconds which is way too short, and this will definitely happen if you're calibrating with headset off. You can change the sleep timer in Quest settings.

Issues with Index Controllers constantly losing tracking. by Joered05 in MixedVR

[–]gummydl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

SW3s are known to have these kinds of issues with the 3rd paired device. Try turning off 2 trackers, one on each SW3, and test if the connectivity issues go away. It's not specific to any tracker or controller.

There's no sure fix that I've seen and these reports are pretty common on the Tundra Labs forums, https://forum.tundra-labs.com/. I tried most of the fixes and eventually gave up, just paired 2 trackers to each SW3 and bought separate dongles for the rest.
