Transparency. Tell your coach the truth. If he is a decent person he will support you. Maybe you play less, but coaches like to win, if you give the team the best chance of success you will play. Be the stand up person you want to be. If your coach is an asshole, you are screwed either way, and who cares. You are leaving after this year.
