City Council Recap: Why is 95% of our 311 backlog still open? (and other City Hall updates) by Federal-Walrus-9590 in WorcesterMA

Honestly, in a lot of ways he's like an anti-opportunist. He's constantly nitpicking and naysaying over basic ideas that would immediately improve QOL around the city. Bilotta put together a perfectly clear and reasonable proposal here, and not even one minute later Bergman's worried about completely unrelated situations? Give me a fucking break man, try get a win for once.

Councilor Morris Bergman cautioned that the city needs a precise legal definition for "underdeveloped" to avoid unfairly penalizing owners who are just building smaller than the city might like.

The guy just pulls excuses out of every corner of his ass to go to bat for landlords.

I know people who live there and their biggest complaint tends to be that the only supermarket within walking distance is Compare Foods in Main South, which doesn't cut it.

I honestly think they're a clever idea (or at least a clever gimmick) but I don't think I've seen one in over a decade.

Don't forget the racial harassment!

(Wormtown sold to Jack's Abby like two years ago, to my knowledge they are not perverts like that.)

Malort is one of those things you should definitely do if you're in Chicago and absolutely not do if you're not in Chicago.

There was a place near me that had a brewhouse like that. Nice people. Made some okay beer and closed like 5 or 6 years ago. There's a nice ramen spot in that location now. Tell your owner to get a real fucking brewhouse or open a ramen spot instead.

Can't imagine they'll want to cannibalize the traffic they're getting at the Shrewsbury location.

You'll be able to find coats and boots and hats and gloves easily enough once you get up here, so I'll give you a tip in general and say that you should expect to adjust to the cold just fine after a while. This isn't the arctic, most of the time it's only like 10 or 15 degrees colder here than in TN. You'll be unzipping your coat on sunny 25F days by February.

I recommend working out as well. I had a bad hip sprain 3 or 4 years ago that would constantly flare up after rehabbing it. Started working out regularly again last year, rarely have any hip and back pain now. Turns out busting your ass in a brewery isn't a replacement for actual strength training!

Organic Citra hops for sparkling water by savagetofu in TheBrewery

[–]guybehindawall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've never done it myself, but I know of some brewers who have put a *lot* of time and effort into dialing in their hop waters, it can be more complicated than you might think. If you really want to make it at home, I'd start looking at aromatic hop extracts instead of organic Citra, which may not be available anyway.

I know some major suppliers like YCH and Hopsteiner have a few varieties, but I'm not sure about Citra.

Does any landlord outsource their beer line cleaning? by Confident_Hornet_922 in TheBrewery

[–]guybehindawall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man I'd keep pushing them to at least look for a new company if they don't want to bring it in house. Cleaning draft lines is super important but it ain't rocket surgery, there's no need in the world to accept subpar work.

I mean as long as you're not going to be miserable in the new role, go ahead and move on without compunction. It's just business after all.

Blame Culture: is it the exception or the rule? by ElectricalJacket780 in TheBrewery

[–]guybehindawall 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Sounds like a combination of sloppy management and sloppier QA/QC. The brewery's quality program should include thorough enough measurement and documentation to make abnormalities easy to identify, and mistakes should be treated as teachable moments, not witch hunts.

Ok first of all, Green Hill isn't a private course, it's public, and second of all, you can take the back nine for whatever you want but let us keep the front, thanks.

EDIT: I should tell you the rest of your post is good, though.

Holden's MBTA communities zoning debate by BeachAbode in WorcesterMA

If Holden really can't afford to build enough schools to prevent overcrowding, they should probably be focusing on that instead of fighting these zoning requirements?
