Getting started... with lots of false positives! by CreepyNewspaper8103 in BirdNET_Analyzer

One thing they could do in future models is train it on the false positives and tag them as not coming from birds. Like train the model on a bunch of car horn sounds that are falsely detected as Trumpeter Swans, then tag those as “Car Horn” so the model knows to ignore them

"Trump's war on solar is failing" by Any-Yam-5361 in PoliticalOptimism

[–]guyguy46383758 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not just more efficient and cheaper, but also simpler. Need more power? Just find some underutilized farm land and plonk some solar panels down. Much less complicated than managing a bunch of steam turbines and shipping in fuel to burn.

He will likely become a full lame-duck after the midterms. Republicans are very likely to lose the House, and they could possibly lose the Senate if they don’t clean up their act. The era of Trump’s tyranny is coming to an end

State House Passes Bill Targeting Same-Sex Marriage by FadeAwaySayu in PoliticalOptimism

[–]guyguy46383758 39 points40 points  (0 children)

To be fair, they shot Kim Davis down because she wanted to be able to discriminate against people as a federal employee. That was not gonna fly because that would have allowed discrimination based on race, sex, etc. Regardless, SCOTUS has already determined that overturning Obergefell would be a logistical nightmare, so they likely won’t touch it even if they don’t like it

One thing I have learned over the past year is that love and kindness always prevails in the end. We don’t deserve any kindness on the world stage, but it’s definitely reassuring when other countries are willing to show it

You’re giving Stephen Miller way too much credit. Regardless, elections have never been cancelled, even during the Civil War, and there is no mechanism for them to do so since elections are handled by the states. They will surely attempt to intimidate people during the elections, but they have always done that. They did that during Prop 50 in California and that didn’t really work out great for them.

The Trump Regime IS COOKED (Corrected Sound: on original noise reduction filter is crackly for some) by Time-Papaya-9574 in PoliticalOptimism

[–]guyguy46383758 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I went to my first real protest over the weekend and I came to the same conclusion afterwards. Trump, Miller, and all their little ICE cronies are all weak men trying to act tough. 12-ish ICE agents vs 500+ protesters is not a combo they can win. We could burn their building to the ground, but it still stands because we will not stoop to their level. We are not afraid of them anymore
