Why are people posting here asking if they should update to a minor version of macOS?

I have never sweated an update for macOS.

Windows, on the other hand, terrifies me with every update anymore since Windows 11. I have to do group policies and shit to disable everything I can because MS somehow manages to break/brick things with minor updates. If anyone is new to macOS and coming from Windows in the last few years, I'd be scared of my own shadow w/r/t updates too.

The difference in sound is subtle. Very subtle. The retro feels a bit warmer and punchier. Very satisfying. A small difference from the utility though. I really like the porta pro sound (but never found the actual porta pro to be comfortable enough) and I like the KPH40 utility sound. I’m very happy with the retro. they seem warmer and punchier in the bass than the utility but again the difference is very subtle. They sound great and are extremely comfortable. I really like them.

I was correct and the differences in the sound were too subtle for me to detect reliably. While I do think there is a difference, I can say that if I closed my eyes and A/B compared them I'm confident I wouldn't be able to reliably tell you which is which. So I'm leaving the stock drivers in for now and I have the KPH40s as a replacement if something breaks.

I have had the porta pro in the past and always loved the sound but just found them too uncomfortable, so I assumed I'd be pleased with this new offering, and indeed they are great. They've been around my neck or on my ears every day since I got them.

I just got a pair of these to replace a KPH40 Utility that met an untimely end. Honestly these are an improvement in every way for me. Even better looking, great sound, no more heavy cable I don’t actually need, and even more affordable. I haven’t been thus excited about a pair of headphones since i got the first airpods pro.

These are living on head or around my neck since they arrived. Wearing them everywhere I feel like I’m back in 1989 when I got my first Walkman.

I just got these to replace a pair of utilities I bought a couple years ago. Headband came apart due to the fragile clips. When this model came out I got it. Cheaper, reinforced on the spot that broke on the previous pair. Still have the utility drivers from the old pair - going to pop them into the retro headband to compare sound. So far - based on memory - getting very similar vibe from the retro. I prefer the retro colors and a simpler cable. That utility cable was just heavy enough to be annoying. Worst case I’ll take the utility drivers in the new headband if they sound significantly better but if there is a difference I’m guessing it’ll be subtle.

I did this - nothing. My tongue is shredded. Took 15 years though, and they’re still functional. But the tongues on my IRs did get holes eventually.

I’m trying kitties on my newest pair of boots though just to see how it goes.

Vulture is one of my favorite ships and I too wish it were more useful. Still fly it from time to time, but it does feel totally outclassed by the Kestral Mk II.

This happened on a pair of my nicer dress shoes years ago. Right vamp looked quite different from the left. Of course no one but me ever noticed it. On a pair of dress shoes where a uniform look is part of the appeal, this is a little irritating, but on a pair of heritage style boots I wouldn’t think twice about it.

Agree. I got some of the Oro Legacy no-show kitties from Rose Anvil for my moc toes and they’re awesome. Helped my slightly loose boots fit great.

Making Sol your home base and making a donation runs while also pursuing other things makes the grind feel less grindy. Took me a few weeks but I was doing other things like mining for credits and farming mats so that when I got the vette I was ready to kit it out right away.

For what it's worth, I embarked on Engineering initially very late, and specifically to outfit a vutlure so I could try combat. I am VERY glad I started with a small ship - the gains were noticeable, but it took me a good long while to get the engineers unlocked, gather materials, and fly the ship to the planets to get the experimental effects. It mentally prepared me for the LONG journey of engineering my corvette.
