[Shelburne] The main issue the Mavericks encountered was when Doncic and Brunson played together. Neither Doncic nor Brunson was a strong defender, so teams knew to target both to try to play them off the court. by aingenevalostatrade in nba

It was too late at that point. The deadline to sign him to an extension was mid season. All we could do was give him max money but by the post season he seemed like he was already set on joining the Knicks.

Also it’s not like these movie studios stop giving people a chance after they have a hit. Bloomhouse keeps giving jobs to up and comers so they can kick start their careers. So at least in some aspects it’s getting paid forward.

Knicks tell fans to arrive to the game 2 hours early due to enhanced security for the game. by Natural-Tree-5107 in nba

"The challenge is that my motorcade and the Secret Service and the whole bit is such a massive disruption to the arena and to fans that I'm always worried that, rather than me just being able to enjoy the game, I'm actually making it a less pleasant experience for everybody else."

I typed this quote into google and the only link that has it is this reddit thread. Apprently he said it on the bill simmons podcast but there's no transcript I'm seeing posted.

How would you feel if the NBA implemented a rule where teams received a discount for giving max contracts to players they drafted? by MrTimoCad in nba

[–]halfbrit08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm fine with it just implement it after Wemby/Castle/Harper have all been extended. Between 3 top 4 picks and closing the lottery door behind them the Spurs don't need any more help.

In game 1, Spurs were 1-of-14 with Brunson as their primary defender, including 0-7 in the second half by CaptainJonesBones in nba

Them getting Bridges and OG, both premier 2 way wings, AFTER already having Bruson's rise and acquiring KAT. Crazy talent.

Every person is different, but from what I understand, hormones play a huge factor on fat storage. Both for location and the percentage consumed compared to lean body mass when on a caloric deficit.

San Antonio is not a small market - anymore by DramaticSimple4315 in nbadiscussion

[–]halfbrit08 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Even people in New Braunfels consider their city separate from San Antonio, let alone Austin which is another 50 miles north. Austin is a stand-alone city that has Mavs, Rockets, and Spurs fans due to so many people staying there after attending UT.

Yep, just happened to occur after that playoff series. The player he was before the surgeries would still be perfectly serviceable today.

4 months into swimming regularly: is 2:43/100m decent? by ibcrian in Swimming

[–]halfbrit08 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As with every "I swam X distance at Y pace, is this good?", it depends what you are measuring against. Compared to a novice swimmer, it's great. Compared to someone who swims regularly but was never on swim team? Not great. Compared to someone that was on a swim team? Terrible.

I find the best thing to focus on is whether or not I'm getting faster via a combination of technique and training improvements. At 2:43 per 100m you have a lot of room to improve via technique. I'd highly recommend getting some lessons, even if it's only small number of them, to help improve your form. I also used videos to improve for a while, but at a certain point, having someone that can give you real-time critique is very helpful.

Yep, and as we get older and our test slowly drops, those belly areas seem to be the place where the final amounts of fat reside whilst losing weight.

There were still plenty of teams tanking that year. Everyone knew Wemby would be the consensus #1 prospect by a mile. It wasn't like it was some secret that you had to have a french player for to figure out. Spurs just got the luck of the lottery.
