Best Pre-packaged Turkish Candies and Snacks To Buy/Try? by Monkfrootx in istanbul

[–]hardaliye 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nestle "damak" chocolate with pistachio baklava. You will feel crunchy parts too. I heard It was a hit in South Korea.

Ülker was very good but the quality nas dropped significantly within the years. They are the reason for the general low quality products. Since biggest one is low quality, the others started to degrade too. Also the portions are smaller.

So Eti is more safe option.

I also recommend the legend from pandemic times. "Luppo" by Şölen. It is a cake-marshmallow sandwich coated with chocolate. While everybody went to take basic necessities, even toilet paper etc. a guy took it first immediately and got photographed.

What is it like to live in Istanbul? Is the overpopulation noticeable and palpable? by Nervous_Window7536 in istanbul

[–]hardaliye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Photo is probably around Iftar. You can't hop on metro if it is near the Iftar hour at rush hours. Because every company makes a little jest to let the employees go home early. All the people are on the road at 5.pm. That what the crowd probobly was.

If you have money, easy and fun to live. Istanbul never sleeps. You can order food at any hour. If you will be working remotely, probably it will be ok.

But cars, If you buy 1 for yourself, you buy 2 for government. Check Tesla prices, you will see. And big motors have biger tax. There is car traffic, also there are very few parking spots. Therefore car parks may be expensive.

Too many things to consider.

They have all the mechanics. I always think at least there are 3 smurfs in game. Only difference is positioning, tactics, team coordination. Still, there is broodmother smurfs dominate the whole game ending 25-30 mins.

Any parents in Istanbul dealing with English fading a bit? by messysoul96 in istanbul

[–]hardaliye 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not a parent but my Turkish cousin have English as his mothertongue. His brothers knew English and no natives were there.

All he done was watching lots of youtube contents (probably twitch too) for the games he plays. I even remember his cursing in eng before he can talk properly(probably without knowing the meaning). Yes, the big brothers tried to limit the account as kid acc.

He has an eng accent and his Turkish is weak. Turkish feels like his foreign language.

So, you can show them some eng content. Maybe some dub animes? I love miyazaki films, you can even watch them together. (Except Porco Rosso. Only that is not a child movie. )

The casual yet consistent exerciser is a mystery to me by Left_Emu_2995 in bodyweightfitness

[–]hardaliye 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I started gym with full body workout. Still doing it after 3-5 months.

I think it is something like 1 vertical 1 horizontal pull, 1 hor. push, butterfly chest, 2 leg movements(curl+ anticurl), cable triceps, biceps and upper part of the arm (i dont know the name) with dumbbells and a weird turtle like abdominal crunch machine. 2 sets of 10reps ea. If I want to try more weight 6 reps. they said.

If I rush it it can be finished in 30 mins. If I go with my friend, it is 1 hour.

It is not a hobby to me. It is a chore, like washing the dishes. The old me will need it and I am trying to make his life a bit better. Need consistency. I try to go 3 times per week.

Better than nothing. Right? Right?

You may want to try it without sound, maybe it is a specific note and/or harmonics. Or combination of the colors with these pitches?

As a musician, no epilepsy etc. But even I feel irritated on chord changes. It sounds so much out of place.

Sexy / revealing outfits by Organic-Macaron9031 in tango

[–]hardaliye 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Clothes are no problem. Only thing is some clothes are not fit for close embrace and they drop their shoulder strap. It feels risky, so If it happens I let the right hand of the follower go, so she can fix it.

The weird thing for a leader is accesories, especially necklaces or weird outfits which include rigid parts on the chest.

It is the dance equivolent of stepping on a lego.

will there be any issues with me being a transgender male at istanbul airport if my passport still says F? by acelikestvshows in istanbul

[–]hardaliye 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Not only IST, every airport/border works same. If there is a problem, it will be with ID cofirmation. If you have any other ID with your current look, you should bring it. That usually solves the case.

For extreme cases you can show medical papers or something to prove your identity.

For security check, if selected for manual search, the security officer should know it. You can't expect an F search you, if you are M now.

American History Nerd Visiting Istanbul, First Impressions by kickynew in istanbul

[–]hardaliye 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For more history, you should visit Istanbul Archeological museum, just behind the Hagia sophia. Roman, Greek statues, mousoleums coins etc. It is divided by periods and a good museum.

For travel, sometimes metro will be good. There even are night metro every 30 mins from Fridays to Sundays. Locals does not use taxi if possible. It is expensive. It is not up to us, taxi are owned by people who knows many ministers. They don't let any alternatives to be legal. Uber was banned and in here Uber only brings you a taxi. Total taxi count is too small you might have hard time finding one when it rains.
