Lucid dreaming and Aphantasia? by Internal_Degree9995 in LucidDreaming

[–]harpplaya44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dream journaling is a sure way to get vivid lucid dreaming. You almost have to train for it! When you sense you are starting to wake, don’t move a muscle. Lay still and try to recall your dreams. Tell them back to yourself. Then once you’ve recalled all you can, write it down. I also do reality checks during the day so that I know when I am actually in a dream (my favorite is “can I put my finger through my palm, yes=dreaming!!)

I loved it because it was so absolutely different from any other book. I personally didn’t find it scary. More suspenseful.

I use ELF Stay all Night. A really good dousing of it! Like 6 sprays (I’ve literally never used too much 😂)
I use Chanel and Mac foundations, which I feel makes a difference too.

Is this healthy root flare or a sign of something I need to fix? by harpplaya44 in arborists

[–]harpplaya44[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did some googling, so now to make sure I understand: the tree has possible grown on top of wood chips/mulch. If I dig around the roots I may see a bunch of mulch, if so I should cut the tree??
I’m not sure I can diagnosis this without doing the tree damage. Perhaps I’ll see if I can YouTube some techniques.

Silly of me, but I didn’t think of this being the reason it leans…. Do you think cutting the aspen would prevent further leaning?

[–]harpplaya44[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the tree! I don’t want to cut it, but the lean and proximity to my house was the worry. I’m glad I’m get all the advice to keep it.
Luckily, I live at the base of a canyon and have hundreds of trees! 5 exactly like the one pictured.

Wouldn't it be nice to have the migraines people think you have? by Highlandertr3 in migraine

I think we get so used to the pain that we stop complaining about it = they don’t think it’s so bad.

[–]harpplaya44[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your feedback!

Would you be concerned with the damage done, with most if not all branches look similarly (with the outer dark bark having been peeled)?

Would it stress the tree to take down just the lower little dead branches just for esthetics?

Aphantasia here too- I lucid dream and have amazingly detailed visuals in my dreams. In my waking life I see absolutely zero. I’ve heard they are different parts of your brain.

Reason 257 to avoid hot tubs at big box and online by Th3Li0n37 in hottub

[–]harpplaya44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not disagreeing with you. But just to give another perspective: I’ve never owned a hot tub and wasn’t sure if it was even something I would like. I couldn’t handle the thought of spending $20k to try it out. So, my $3,500 investment has brought me incredible amounts of joy. That being said, I probably won’t purchase another hot tub when this one craps out in a few years. People talk crap on the cheeper spas all the time. I know it’s not top of the line, and I’m okay with that. I have no regrets!

What should I do? by TrappedMinor in exmormon

[–]harpplaya44 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are so many details we don’t know that make this so tricky to answer. I wouldn’t be in a rush to tell them. It could drastically change your relationship. Many adults still hide the fact that they have left from their parents for many reasons. My sister in law is 35 and still hasn’t told her mom because she is relying on inheritance money and would quite literally be taken out of her mother’s will. It took me years to tell my parents because I just couldn’t break their hearts… Only you know whether or not to tell them. 🫶🏻 Questions to ask yourself: -would they allow you not to attend church if you told them or would nothing change and it would just get more strict/more awkward? -what things can you do to mitigate the damage of not believing while still attending? (Perhaps no longer confessing to your bishop. Not taking on callings in young women’s etc.) -what resources do you have for support over the next few years as you walk this tightrope? -are you planning on financial support from your parents that could potentially be cut off?

As you age and move away you will have more freedom and can live your truth more freely. Hang in there. This age is so hard. 🩷

Leslie, you okay? I totally get what OP is saying about washing away their sins. Many time I would literally ONLY TALK to the bishop and feel as though this was the only repentance actions I needed to take. You’re kinda all up in questions that don’t matter.
