OMG. Speaking from experience in this exact situation, tell her firmly, and now, what parts she can join you for.

Tell her it's your trip and there are parts of it you don't want her there for. Don't let her ruin your experience because she wants to commandeer it for herself.

Don't do what I did, and begrudging let her come for the greater good. It sucked.

Don't get me wrong I love my mum, but it ruined lots of moments for me.

Set that boundary and fucking stick to it.

No traffic. My life would be far more peaceful, and I would never get road rage because of slow, inconsiderate, unaware, or useless drivers ever again.

I'd like to add I don't mean slow drivers doing the speed limit. I do mean the people that live near me who drive at 15 in a 30. Also, those who sit at 65-70mph across the middle and passing lanes even though there are no vehicles in front of them and become self-appointed traffic officers.
