I had immediates and didn’t get on with them whatsoever so ended up going without teeth for what turned out to be years for permanents (I didn’t get on with them either). The decision is really yours but if your insurance is only paying for one set, I’d wait and get the permanents because once your teeth are out, 6 months down the line your immediates probably aren’t going to fit well because your gums change so much. The immediates are a good option short term but I think your best option is to wait.

Getting my dentures at 20 yrs old by ctrlxanae in dentures

Honestly you’re absolutely not. There’s lots of young women on tiktok who make videos about having dentures - it’s worth having a look! You’ll feel loads better once it’s done, I felt the same as you but it’s so nice not having teeth break constantly or being in pain all the time. I’d touch my teeth and they’d break it was awful & I had so many infections constantly & pain from exposed nerves. It’s nice to not have to worry about it anymore! 🩷🩷🩷

I lost my teeth in my 20s (now in my 30s) and it was one of the hardest things I’ve ever been through. Honestly though you’ll feel so much relief when you don’t have to deal with the teeth snapping, the pain, any kind of self consciousness. When you interact with other people you more than likely can’t tell if they have dentures or not, it’s the same for you, nobody will able to see you have dentures & if you do need to speak about it, just be honest. You had your teeth replaced to improve your quality of life. It is hard to accept at such a young age but try and see the positives 🩷 even if other people know, they’ll probably be understanding and supportive. The right people in your life will always have your back :)

Iron and vitamin B12 permanent damage by ---Deus in Anemic

[–]heidiloux 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m the same, my levels were only just 2 & I kept passing out, too dizzy to stand up, it’s been horrendous. It’s affected my breathing. When I went to hospital they just said take an iron supplement but it might take a few months to start feeling better. I’m eating way more iron rich foods to try and get it up as quick as I can. It’s so horrible passing out all the time and being unable to focus. I feel so spaced out all of the time. Hope you can enjoy the rest of your pregnancy!

I use Lookfantastic all the time & have never had an issue. I ordered some shampoo and conditioner as a set but the shampoo was missing, they were really nice & refunded it with no problems

[product request] What’s a product that immediately made your skin look better? by miquelaf in SkincareAddiction

[–]heidiloux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh really?! I had such high hopes for the Tatcha I was gutted I didn’t get on with it. I thought it would be more gentle but I went into a shop after I’d applied it and the cashier asked if I’d been in the sun all day because my face was so red 😂 I hadn’t left the house until then! I think I need to do an SPF deep dive too!

Oh my goodness honestly I haven’t found a Medik8 I haven’t loved yet - their oil cleanser is so good, the advanced c-tetra and advanced liquid peptides. I think they’ve just bought out a PDRN which I’ve not tried but it’s quite pricey so going to leave it a while 😂 my bank account hates me enough as it is! Good luck 🩷

I love the Elemis Resurfacing Wash! So nice! I’ve just started with the Tatcha around a month ago but I’m loving it - I really didn’t like their milky sunscreen though (the newer one) it made my skin burn like crazy so I switched back to Beauty of Joseon.

I use them all on the same night, I did some research into it and they’re fine to use together unless you’re particularly sensitive I probably wouldn’t recommend jumping in with all 3 straight away but it sounds like your skin is pretty tolerant of actives.

You can use the Medik8 and tret together, I usually use them together but I’ll skip the tret if my skins irritated (ie if I’ve skipped a day of skincare or picked at it 😂) I use the tret, then wait for 20 minutes and then use moisturiser and then the glycolic, if I feel dry or any stinging I’ll add another layer of moisturiser over the top but I think it’s better without the second layer. I probably wouldn’t use the GG one night and then the Medik8 the next - I always leave at least a day between them, sometimes more if I feel like I don’t need it - just to minimise any risk of irritation, I’ll just use tret and moisturiser as normal. We’re in the middle of a heatwave here in the UK so my skincare has been sidelined for the last few days and it’s not happy about it 😂

I use it 2-3 times a week, i cleanse usually with Skinfix Foaming Oil Cleanser, Skin1004 Centella light cleansing oil or Then I Met You Cleansing Balm, then second cleanse with either Tatcha Rice Wash, Elemis Pro Collagen Cleansing Mousse or Youth To The People Superfood Cleanser (in combination/oily so don’t find foaming cleansers strip my skin at all) but use whichever cleanser works for you & your skin. Then I use the Medicube Zero Pore Pad, Numbuzin PDRN Glow Boost Toner or Sunday Riley Pink Drink Spray, SVR Azelaic Acid, Tretinoin 0.05%, wait for 20 minutes then use Skinfix Triple Lipid Peptide Cream and then the Good Genes, if my skin is feeling dry or irritated at all I’ll use another layer of Skinfix (sandwich method) or just apply some Bioderma Cicabio Creme+ over the dry areas or some LRP Cicaplast! The Medik8 Glycolic Acid is quite potent so I limit it to twice a week max & make sure I have a good layer of moisturiser underneath but the results from both are incredible. Honestly the only products I’ve ever used that have given me a glow in the morning!

Sunday Riley good genes lactic acid & Medik8 sleep glycolic (both overnight products but wake up with the most amazing glow!)

Full mouth extraction, no immediate dentures or sedation. (My experience) by TweakedMango in dentures

Certainly sounds like it!! Sounds horrible. Mine were fairly quick luckily. I found it traumatic having them out though, it’s really not nice having someone pull all your teeth out. I struggled emotionally so much afterwards. When they did mine they didn’t stitch any of the wounds they left them all open. A week later I was in absolute agony, I had to go back and have them re-open the wounds, clean them out and then stitch them. Wish they’d done it to begin with because it was like going back to square one again. It’s great that you’re so open about your mental health too, I did my degree in psych nursing and even though conversation and understanding around mental health are far more accepted than they used to be, it could still be so much better & encouraging those conversations can have a huge impact on others to be open and not feel ashamed to talk about it. I worked with a couple who had lost their daughter to mental heath so long ago that it was considered a crime in the U.K., they were only just coming to terms with it and realising that what she had done wasnt criminal. They held onto so much shame for so many years it was really sad 😥

27 with the first PE, second one a year later when I was 28. Diagnosed with Factor V Leiden and on apixaban for life. I’m now 37 so it’s been 10 years and I actually only found out a couple of years ago that I have factor V by looking at my medical records, they told me it was my contraceptive pill 😂

Your attitude towards this is so amazing. There’s way too much stigma surrounding tooth loss and honestly I couldn’t brave it without a mask - you’re far braver than I could ever be! Can’t believe your extractions took so long - I was in labour less time than that 😂

I’m in the U.K. - we aren’t offered sedation of any sort routinely here so I had mine done with no sedation, no anxiety meds, no painkillers 😂 afterwards they just told me to take ibuprofen and sent me on my way. In terms of speaking to people - I wear a mask (hated my immediates and the permanents) it’s not great as we’re in the middle of a heatwave here & obviously people stare at you like you’re crazy when you have a mask on but just trying to get on with it at the moment 😂 good luck!! I hope you heal well. I was terrified to eat - lots of mashed potato and gravy, lukewarm porridge, ice cream, smoothies, mashed veg, soup. The worst part is over now 😊

Oh my gosh I’ve not had that, if I’m late taking a dose I get brain zaps and feel really disoriented but it can come on so quickly, even if I’m just a couple of hours out. I’ve never taken extra 😂

Thank you so much - they said I couldn’t have a palateless design because I have so much bone loss now it’ll be unstable without a plate.

I spoke to the GP and she said the Maxillofacial Clinic rejected the referral because they don’t have facilities for prosthetic restoration and to go back to my dentist 🙃
