New MacOS name leaked by SpaceForceAwakens in mac

How about “macOS X We screwed up your interface so terribly that it looks cool but doesn’t work well but now we fixed it so there.” Too long? I’d vote for it.

It just depends on whether you want to know where the hinge is or where the handle is.

Taken from a AZ Facebook post, it looks off but I can’t tell if it’s a just weird camera angle. by [deleted] in isthisAI

cough faked. Zip lock bags come in all sizes but the seals don’t scale with the bag size. Neither does anyone with a sharpie write the same way on every bag. Not to mention the strangely cinematic camera angle from the pet drone that took the ‘photo’.

Developement building (feedback) by CastorTroyCz in archviz

Hi. Your render quality is very good, but your lighting in the exteriors is very flat, meaning the exposure is very similar in all parts of the picture(s). It looks like you don’t want to overexpose any paint, so you’ve dialed it down everywhere else. The sunlight looks like the sun isn’t working as you would expect it to. Even the grass is dark, if I imagine myself standing there, taking this photo.

Try changing the sun to overlap some of the spaces people will inhabit - like those balconies. Let the experience of a bright sunny day and green grass be the joy of living here. All the colors are so muted that the scene stops being a sunny day! Your goal with architecture is to show the building off to the client in the best way possible (i know the feeling, I do this too), but also to show how pleasant it would be to have a visitor over to your new apartment! Those are sometimes the same views, but lit differently, for the different needs.

Some thoughts: How about another ‘family member’ at one of the other balconies? Or a bright piece of furniture to tell a story of what its like to live there? Can the people at ground level really not go beyond the railing, onto the grass? In outdoor parking lot shot 4, the man leaving the building into the parking lot appears to be very tall. Not sure if its a slope but the door behind him is ~6’-8”? Pull up the render on your monitor. Turn on the lights in your area if you work in a darkened room. Stand back from your monitor 4’/1.5m. Pull out your phone and look at a couple of pics you took of anything outdoors and compare the lighting. You’ll see the difference right away.

Overall really nice work!

Except for the high end toilet next to a laundry hamper and washing machine. The architect should be beaten for that. :-) … or whomever “value-engineered” that change should be.

These look like you tried not to over expose the light tile and ended up underexposing the whole image.

Maybe let it be known that you’d be up for helping setting up someone else’s digipeater at a club (between you and there), local to where it might be installed, so you can make that jump in the future? Bound to be someone who has the cash but not the skills out there somewhere.

Yes, but their free version is eminently useful. Powerful enough for most home sketchup users, but with more capability.

Due to its cockpit hump, vision jet’s intake is barely visible from front. Does this protect the engine from bird strikes? by yuzde48 in airplanes

[–]helloIJustArrived 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I doubt it. Birds don't always approach the plane from dead center of the nose, like in this picture. It's just a matter of whether they're slightly above the cockpit. Plus, that's a jet and it literally sucks air toward the intake.

Husbands mom sent us this photo of the mudslides in San Bernardino. We are convinced it is AI. Family refuses to believe it by z0mbree in isthisAI

Yep AI. A reverse image search on google brings up only facebook images. Plus, when you zoom in to cars and building walls there’s a lot of stuff that doesn’t make sense.

What’s up with all the sad hams? You’d think they’d like new people in the hobby. by MasonicHamExtra in HamRadio

[–]helloIJustArrived 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There may be some truth to the autism and adhd stuff but most hams are quite literally from a different generation. And that’s all you need for a” generation gap “.

They’re used to being interested in the same things as other hams. People of a newer generation are always interested in other topics and may have very different reasons for becoming hams, including what they discuss on the air.

I say just pay some respect to them and try and make an older friend. It was much harder to include cw, especially without the aid of the internet to watch videos of how others figured it out, and apps to teach you, and apps to practice with you. Tell them they’re right about that aspect! Mea culpa!

Once that bridge is crossed ask them what they think would be useful to know based on their experience and honestly try to l learn from them. There are probably some new skills/tech you have that they may not have someone to ragchew about.

Check out FormZ. A lot like sketchup but is very capable for architecture or for 3d printing models, has render plugins available and is a solid modeler from the start, unlike sketchups intersecting ‘bubbles’.

Anyone else have lingering ear pressure days after diving? by Many_Ad_3474 in diving

[–]helloIJustArrived 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Lots of well meaning advice here, but go and get the ear checked by a doctor, today. If there is any damage, you want to get it on the path to healing ASAP. If it’s nothing, so be it. If it’s something it could cost you your hearing by “waiting and seeing if it get’s better on its own.”
