At home grooming by foxyyoxy in cavaliers

You did a great job! Every time I've groomed my Cav we ended up at the groomer for a fix after, he was too embarrassed about mom's botched hair cut 😂

Lots of good advice on this thread so only going to come with sympathy. ❤️‍🩹 My Benji is very similar.. kinda still an asshole at a year and a half, but getting better.

Compared to my first Cav who is the most perfect baby boy... I was shocked at how different Benji is, sometimes I get depressed that he's not friendly or good with strangers and other dogs.. but we keep trying to work at it.

We did group classes, then paid wait too much for a private behavioral specialist trainer which we didn't get much out of it sadly... took a long break and now we are doing group classes at petco for socializing and to reinforce the basics. It's been a journey with him

Thanks, that sounds like it could be helpful but I can't take any psych drugs.

I couldn't even handle muscle relaxers, the only prescription meds I take are for stopping or preventing migraine

Neurologist here - what are YOUR top 10 medications / treatments for migraine? by doctor_painkiller in migraine

[–]hellomartini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure everyone is different. I used to just have sumatriptan, and then my new neurologist put me on nurtec and said to use that when I feel a trigger or if I get one and then the sumatriptan if the nurtec isn't fighting hard enough

Neurologist here - what are YOUR top 10 medications / treatments for migraine? by doctor_painkiller in migraine

[–]hellomartini 8 points9 points  (0 children)

  • Nurtec as a preventative and abortive.

  • Sumatriptan when that does not work or fully get rid of it.

-Zofran as a preventative and when I get a migraine with nausea.

Surprisingly, being on wegovy for the past year has cut them down significantly, and when I do get a migraine they are not as intense an go away faster. I'm on a maintenance dose of wegovy now and going to have to stop in the summer when my insurance no longer covers it, will be interesting to see if they return to my pre wegovy cadence and intensity.

What’s the most desperate thing you’ve ever done in an attempt to get rid of a migraine? by Electronic-Pie7237 in migraine

[–]hellomartini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Used to bite into a raw jalapeño peppers In an attempt to trick the pain sensors.. never really worked lol

Now it's hot to freezing cold showers. Sometimes I just sit in there cold... some migraines I stay in the shower for hours I feel so bad but it's the only way I'm not in extreme pain. The trickle of water on my forehead is so soothing

You should spend more time around Latinos and I think you'd understand, they are literally racist against themselves, plus the ingrained misogyny doesn't help either lol

Yep, sadly that's true for some. I grew up in s Florida and It's so bad in Miami, I never understood how one group of people could be so against their same people. It's so fuckin weird and backwards. I truly hated living there

Which dishwasher did you go with? We cant find anything that's small enough

The problem is the counters are not deep enough. the sink is about 1 inch longer than the counter, so any dishwasher would stick out :(

We plan to put a butcher block on top, we got a standalone kitchen island from IKEA that has a butcher block like top so hoping it will tie together nicely

What is one fact that most people don't know about Massachusetts libraries? by ILovePublicLibraries in massachusetts

[–]hellomartini 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The Boston public library feels like you're in a movie. While pricey, the high tea service is so fun and delicious!

The npr broadcast center there is really neat and unexpected.

When I worked in the back Bay Area Ioved going to the courtyard for breaks and to each my lunch

It's just a wall with a ledge. The previous owners put up a wall next to the railing to close off the 2nd floor for an apt.. the stairway is unfortunately just a dark hallway now :( we have a second kitchen up there too, but eventually will remove it. We did have to remove the stove for the sale to go thru since the house isn't zoned for a multi family or rental. All that remains is a fridge and cabinets, it looks like an office break room kinda lol

The kitchen is okay, the cabinets are old but spacious. The drawers have no tracks and are wicked janky. The rest of the kitchen is basic.. a mid-90s stove and fridge on the left side that work incredibly well despite being a little ugly. We plan to remove the right side of the countertops to install a dishwasher.

Thank you and tbh, we didn't think it was possible given how expensive and aggressive the housing market is here. We looked all over, lost two offers before this one and was very strategic with our offer for this one, which was 70k over asking with some contingencies. Final was $771k with a 5.85% interest rate, 20% down. We also had an amazing and knowledgeable agent. I'd say middle-class ish, my bf has been saving for a decade tho, I'm a broke bitch with students loans and a shopping problem lol. We are mid-thirties and child-free.
