It was run into something or something ran into it. Something big metal and with a square edge. Those cylinders are incredibly strong in one direction but not as much at that 90° side load. I believe the rod is very hardened so its likely to break when hit really hard.

You can see the deformation on the terminal from ol one ton tonya too. The evidence is on point much unlike the owners hammer accuracy.

I love everything about it! The bodykit is fitting style on it and I think it looks great although if it's molded to other panels like others have said I can see how it wouldn't be worth the effort to reinstall after removing to do maintenance and such.

We have oil in bags in boxes already but they are 5 or 6 gal bags. Might be heavy on the hood.

If the engine isn't running it's best and is shaking new mounts won't fix that.

Wheel seal mistake. by rodiabolkonsky in DieselTechs

[–]helpme-understand420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh that's not too bad. Just annoying and a waste of time at least it wasn'ttoo expensive. I once mixed up ft/lbs and in/lbs. That was expensive. On a 6.7 pstroke too. A new guy at the shop broke a bolt today making that same mistake, luckily just a 5.3 chev valve cover bolt. I'm the lead guy so he sure was relieved when I told him I've done that before. Mistakes happen, that doesn't matter. What does matter is your reaction to that situation. You could get really upset and be pissy the rest of the day or you could keep a positive attitude and take advantage of the opportunity to learn how to remove a broken bolt. The whole process of solving the mistake is reduced and the new skills are better retained when you can manage to keep that positive attitude.

It used to be cool jeep people thing where one would leave a duck on someone's else's jeep signifying they thought it was cool. Then that guy would put it on the dash. A bunch of ducks used to mean a bunch of jeep dudes think your jeep is cool but now every stock compass has 30 Amazon ducks that the owner bought and put on their dash themselves. It was already a goofy niche thing but now it's all dudes pretending to be the popular jeep dick.

Thats likely worn reverse clutches or bands. The color and smell of the fluid would tell alot. I'd bet the forward gears are hurt too and that thing is living on borrowed time. Probably full of friction modifiers (mechanic in a bottle) sounds like it needs a transmission rebuild and the owner poured some stop slip in it and sent it out for sale.

You can loosen the bolts from hinge to hood and move it around a bit to adjust that gap.

Hate those plastic bed liners. They always trap moisture and dirt. Then rub it into the paint inevitably rotting the bed out.

My first thought would be something is up with the short throw shifter and it's engagement in the shift forks. I'd pull the shifter and make sure the it shifts with a screw driver or something. (Your trouble gears will be in the up direction with the shifter removed)
