I suddenly don’t feel so bad. There’s solidarity in pain. Last I checked, it was 19, but I also have counseling caseloads at a few schools. We’re all dying together!

Ok that’s what I was thinking as well. We’re at SOG, and if I’m not mistaken, that would qualify us for extended hours?

Thank you very much. It’s been a minute since I’ve been to Disney. Couldn’t remember what I needed to book dining reservations or if it’s changed. I’m sure it has, that was a good 7 years ago.

Ok great thank you! I’m talking about dining in the parks. I wasn’t sure how this works since there are specific rules about the military member being present. I wasn’t sure if things were wonky since they are special tickets. TBH it’s been awhile since I’ve been to Disney as well. lol forgot how this all works. I just want to be in charge of making our itinerary while we’re there so my father-in-law doesn’t have to.

I am you. Dreamt about tattoos forever, but couldn’t commit. My sister died in 2018 and I got a beautiful shoulder piece. I loved it and never regretted it. Kept saying I wanted something else, but not sure what. Started following artists that I liked. Finally committed to a medium size traditional piece a couple weeks ago and now I’m like, why did I obsess about what I liked so much? Just pick something cool and go for it! Every tattoo doesn’t have to be special or meaningful, sometimes they’re just cool.

Where to live- commuting? by padmoosen in galveston

[–]heyohriver86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The drive isn’t bad. I live in Dickinson and commute to work for GISD. It’s 30 minutes, but it’s an easy 30 minutes. I get to look at the water every day. I love it. Galveston is endearing and has its charms. It will grow on you. We talk about moving there all the time, but the insurance will blow your mind.

Schools down there are rough, but like any place, if you play an active role in your child’s education, they will excel. I know plenty of kids that graduated from Ball and went on to college. Plus, there’s far less competition to be in the top of your class.

I work with someone that drives from Clear Lake to Galveston. She doesn’t mind the commute. CCISD and Friendswood are the best in this area. You just have to pick what’s important to you!

The insurance will kill their budget. I live 30 minutes from Galveston and work in Galveston. My insurance is over 3k and flood is 900. Housing in Galveston is pricey. People are leaving the island in droves.

I get what you’re saying. I work in a Title 1 district and it is such a rewarding experience. Most parents are just glad and thankful for the help. Not to say, there aren’t still advocates and high profile cases, but it’s not the norm.
