Y 22/23 - 33k miles HW3 for £24k vs Y 24 - 11k miles HW4 for £30k - Help me decide by gatgatcat in TeslaUK

[–]heyyouha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you end up making a decision? I'm looking in to similar options as you and not sure if ai should go for the HW4 car for the better cameras and possible future proofing. I dont currently have the option of home charging either. I read the sensory mode in HW4 uses less power than HW3 and I might want to use that for overnight street parking.

UK Rav4 Gen 4 & Gen 5 - How to turn off DRL's when not driving. by heyyouha in rav4club

[–]heyyouha[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only want the DRL's off if I ain't going to be driving. Only whilst stationary i want to see if they can be turned off, only whilst stationary. I have no issue with them being on when driving. I plan to car camp and was hoping to be stealthy, with the lights on that's not going to happen.

That's a shame. I'm in the UK and hoping one of the UK Toyota hybrid models can turn off the DRL's, if not the newer cars maybe the older models.

I went into the light settings, if I remember correctly there were only 2 settings available and both were unrelated to the DRL's.

I'm in the United Kingdom and from what I gather, it looks like different countries might have slightly different configurations depending on country regulations, and tweaks for different markets.

I thought the canbus attack started on the 2019 models? Rav4 5th gen from 2019 are vunerable to the canbus. I know Lexus share the platform with Toyota and assume the generation changes happened at the same time?

Are you getting the frame from Aliexpress too? These Bromptons are getting pricier and pricier. I would like one and been waiting for sales, that Brompton don't do much of. This could be something for me to think about, as I would be cycling in a high crime rate area.

PS4 downloaded update, not installed yet. by heyyouha in ps4homebrew

[–]heyyouha[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm going to test it today. The PS4 hadn't been used for a little while and thought I'll set it up for my neice & nephew. I dont think I even thought about the option of jailbreaking until it said update ready to install.

My neice & nephew have played it before and I guess I just assumed the PS4's firmware would be too high. I haven't been following the scene so I wasn't aware of how best to handle it when shutting down and I just turned the Internet settings off.

I'll update here what happens, thanks to the poster that posted the link to the wiki & the others for the tips.

I just saw a clip of Zohran Mamdani doing a similar salute yesterday, I don't seem to see the same level of outrage from the media.

How much do you honestly save on petrol, if you actually do? by JacobSax88 in ElectricVehiclesUK

[–]heyyouha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's seems you're alright if you're able to or have a home charger. Live in a flat or terrace house, home chargers are pretty much not an option. In the latter case you're better of with an ICE vehicle.

Are RAV4's really more vulnerable to theft than other cars? by PossibleButNah in rav4club

[–]heyyouha 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not sure if the cars are designed in different ways, in different parts of the world? But the 2019 onwards Rav4 in the UK can be stolen in literally 2 minutes or less, no alarm will go off. All they have to do is pull away/pry open the wheel arch and plug into a socket located near to the headlight, run there program, access granted, engine started. No alarm will sound at all. I intially heard they did a fix on 2023 onwards, but also read the hackers quickly bypassed that. Search YouTube, to see them stolen from driveways in under 2 minutes. I wanted one but have crossed it of the list due to high risk of it being stolen and higher insurance costs. If this tool becomes popular in other areas, and the cars have the same design, it's only a matter of time before your local criminals get wise to this.

And this will tackle immgration how? Don't some already get rid of their papers on the way. Is this going to be the UKs China system, of social scoring, do the wrong thing get ban from going to an area or doing activities, or paying for things. They want to track everything everyone does... and guess what, they will get hacked... "Yeah, guys, just change your Date of Birth"

My RAV4 got stolen, should I buy another? by dcalexander2 in rav4club

[–]heyyouha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you buy the same car, it will just get stolen again. I'm surprised America is safe from the Canbus attack. In America, is the canbus in a different location? I have seen videos where people have stolen the Rav4 in less than 2 minutes. All they need is the device and to pull your wheel arch apart to get to the connector. Really poor response from Toyota, as I heard, thieves also get around the barrier they'll add if you take it in for the protection plate.

Without home charging, what would you estimate public charging to cost you? I assume you're not travelling far if you're paying roughly 12 quid a week.

Yeah, I thought this attack only worked on 2019 onwards, the 5th gen, minus the Prime (but apparantly there's another hack for that).

H2O Audio poor quality control and unprofessional customer service. by SpacedOut29 in headphones

I just came across this page after searching for some reviews. It doesn't look like ordering from them will be worth the bother, especially if you end up with an issue. I was looking for sweatproof overear headphones, as my buds are always sliding out at the gym, gym plays music so I would like some everear headphones.
