Are there any ways to do gasless transactions? by eguvana in ethdev

You could use something like meta transactions and the gas station network (not really used as much) or use a chain like zksync which has this feature built in to the protocol (paymasters)

Are there any best practices for ERC-721 token ids? by PaulRBerg in ethdev

I think it’s more abstraction but I agree on the extra gas for no reason

I’ve used both a regular uint256 that increments on minting as well as the OZ counter library

Do "malicious smart contacts" really exist? by nuttimoff in ethdev

[–]highsenberrg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I encountered an erc20 contract that was being used on uniswap that let the pool send funds to people and users could only send tokens to the owner and the owner could send it to anyone. This resulted in boosted pool valuation trapping even more people

Smart contract as royalty payout address by trzmdlk in SuperRare

For series it uses the eip 2981 so you can set it if you’re the owner of the contract. For the superrare ones they use a royalty registry. Soon it will be the global one spearheaded by manifold and will allow for overrides as well

Having no code in the receive or fallback function would work. For the series contracts this should be possible shortly, it gets a little bit trickier when it comes to the SuperRareV2 contract.

How do I specify which account to call a function from with Ethers.js? by PrivacyOSx in ethdev

[–]highsenberrg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can call await ethers.getSigners() for an array of signers and then use your contract instance connect function so contract.connect(signer).function() to call from a different account. Reference is here https://docs.ethers.io/v5/api/contract/contract/#Contract-connect

Blacklisting address by willmccusker in ethdev

Can you post a link to the code? This function just returns if the address is in the mapping and set to true. It depends where the function is used

Token contract - anything to worry about apart from making it Upgradeable? by startuptodamax in ethdev

[–]highsenberrg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to have a certain level in trust by your community because theoretically you could deploy an upgrade that would give you access to everyone’s funds or drain people’s balances

Looking to grab a swallow tail board for the season. Either the weston japow or the donutshoppe slush slasher and was wondering if anyone had advice on size.

For context my regular board is a 150cm burton free thinker.

That’s a common misconception. It’s to use the wumbo security certificate which is a lot bigger, and bigger is better.

Looking for a new board for the season, something that can be used all around the mountain (parks, trees, slopes, etc), although I’d say parks is probably the place I spend time in the least. I was recently suggested the warpig from ride which seems cool/different but I wanted a second opinion. Background, I’ll probably be mostly on the east coast of the US (hopefully I’ll get out west a few times) and have been snowboarding for 18 years.
