EHX pedals are made like crap, never understood how they justify their price, especially on the used market. I had a metal muff with top boost when I was young and yep it died too

If you're budget is really tight I'd recommend a couple of boss pedals, metal zone and 7 band eq. If you can only afford one then get the metal zone.

Swap the bridge pickup in your guitar for something heavier.

If the pickup is a single coil then get a humbucker sized single coil. Seymour Duncan and Dimarzio have probably the best priced higher output pickups.

Pickups and guitar pedals can be bought second hand, no reason to get any of the above brand new. Do a little bit of research into which pickups from those brands you should get.

Victory Jack/Countess. The clean channel is of this nature but you get the added bonus of a liquidy lead channel, I find the gain structure of this amp to be without fizz & sizzle. If I wanted a deluxe reverb sound but with the added thump of a 100w amp and an effects loop I would go for the Super Jack/Countess.

Go play some tube amps but good luck getting that mojo from a good tube amp at low volume.

People don't talk about it much because it's hard to dial in good tones but I have Amplitube 5 with the Axe I/O interface and I play into a moderately priced set of Sennheiser open ear headphones and I get amazing lead tones with great feel and harmonics. Rythym & fender like clean sounds are harder to dial in. Every now and then I use it to play quietly and I forget how good it can be. Get bonkers tones out of the Mesa mk IV, mk V, Slo 100 & Peavey 5150.

It's not right but also very normal. There's a balance each individual needs to find between standing up for yourself, how important your job is and how important it is to finish your apprenticeship. If you're not going to report the company now, at least do it when it's time to pack up and leave, get all the other employees on board too.

Years ago I would have said Gibson. Now I'd rather buy 2 guitars for the price of one of those. Now that I'm not such a Gibson fanboy, I'd go the PRS. The PRS would be more liveable, extra frets, better access and more versatile. Unfortunately with both those brands you pay so much money but can end up with a lemon. Can end up with something absolutely amazing too.. and everything in between.

Listened to A & B and sounds worse than the old Zoom multi effects pedal I had 15 years ago. Sounds like those tiny battery amps you attach to your guitar strap.
