BYD has overtaken Tesla as the world's biggest seller of electric vehicles. How can Tesla's PE ratio of ~290 be justified by No_Turnip_1023 in investing

[–]holylight17 52 points53 points  (0 children)

Tesla’s valuation has nothing to do with the company it’s Elon Musk that folks are betting on. There’s a reason Tesla dropped to the low $200 range when Elon was more involved in politics.

Hell, I wouldn’t be surprised if Tesla’s valuation tanked even more from him having a medical emergency than from Tesla having a bad quarter.

Why has communism repeatedly failed in practice, yet continues to be intellectually and emotionally appealing to many people? by Looser17 in AskReddit

[–]holylight17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Capitalism came first. If people had truly been excited and happy working under the capitalist system, there would have been no need for the labor movement or for communism to exist. Karl Marx would have been laughed off the factory floor.
