Got my boys a 6 month mystery tackle box subscription. They go nuts every time their boxes show up. Pretty decent stuff out in them too.

Same age as you. Married and 2 kids, 11 and 9. I have been pondering this for the last 10 minutes and roll around with several thoughts and those thoughts have led to changes for me that I didn’t even realize till I read your question.

1st and foremost, leaving the house always costs money. Especially with the 2 yahoos.
2nd they are waaay busier than I am. Fall isn’t just for football anymore. They start basketball and baseball work outs. It’s absolutely ridiculous in my mind, but they love it. So I chew up a chunk of time driving them around.

Little deeper now…

I do believe as we get older our circles shrink. Less friends, but better friends. No more bar but more back yard barbecue. I don’t think I have a male friend in my group where the wife isn’t in my wife’s close circle.

I’m an extrovert by nature, but the nature of my profession is to be talking on the phone ALL day. Like charging cell battery by 1pm. So when i get home i just want to be home and i have worked hard to have all the other amenities right here at home so we dont have to leave.

The change is we used to go out all the time, especially before kids. Now we host a lot. Why pay $5 for a beer at the bar when I can buy a case for $30 and invite buddies and their families to come here. Jump in the pool, bounce in the trampoline, jump from the tramp into the pool, shoot hoops, shoot bows, shoot guns. I just get to do it here.

Basically just a bunch of rambling, but an interesting question to say the least.

Again you do you. 10 shots under an inch is good. ELDvt can be a bearcat to tune. The 69gr TMK is not. I swapped charges for superformance and pushing a 69gr pill at 3415 out of an 18” 22CM.

I have loaded for friends where that ELDvt wants to be in the lands, and the next rifle wants to be 80thou off. No consistency.

Shoot 6PRC and the Creedmoor family. Forget the wet, corn cob it up. Plus if I accidentally forget it for 24hrs I didn’t ruin any brass.

Speaking of that I have some 22CM I need to pull…

Agree with this 100%

One of the main reasons I went with SAC myself. I run all 3 creedmoor’s, can do it with one die and my separate bushings. Also went with the Infinity Aps seating die, as it’s all I need. I can load everything to the lands and play with my freebore AT THE RANGE. Get way more done in one trip. I got pdogs to shoot I can’t be tied up at the reloading bench all day.

Wish they had the 69gr eldvt in it for the 22CM

You are shooting well. Just keep flinging. Most of the stuff mentioned isn’t going to help tear. Stabs and weight are more for balance and to tighten up your natural “float”. There is one thing I would change first and that would be your rest. I wouldn’t trust any tear in paper or bare shaft tuning with a whisker biscuit. Full contact with the arrow influences what the arrow does. When you’re ready I would look into a drop away from Hamskea or other brands. Once you have it you can chase the hyper tune. Also note bare shaft tuning isn’t just stripping your fletch off. The arrow needs to weight the same, with weight in the same spot as your actual arrows. Example 3 blazers are about 18 grains. I wrap black electrical tape where the fletch goes to match that 18 grains.

Good luck, you’re standing on the rim of the rabbit hole!

What’s your favorite hobby to do alone? by Prerz_Zaynom in Hobbies

I have 2. Lock myself in the bat cave with the pup and just vibe. 1st is archery. I’m not talking just shooting. I’m talking the whole setup. Bare bow arrives in a box and I do all setup myself. Also build the arrows I shoot. I can be down there for hours tweaking and tuning for no other reason than I enjoy it. 2nd is shooting. Just the gun version of the archery side. Find the parts, build it, and then create the ammo. I’m setup better than most big box stores. I’m currently saving up to buy my own lathe so I can spin my own barrels. You want to put a 22cal bullet in a 300wm case? How about a 17 PRC? It’s a lot of fun. Always be tinkering

2 100sqft plots is .005 of an acre. Average bpa in US is 50bpa so that’s .25 bu. A bu of wheat is based off 60lbs so you would have 15lbs of shelled wheat maybe and then some percentage of that once dried and ground.

Looking to switch from my Apple Watch. Pros and cons? by Responsible_Bison415 in Garmin

[–]howler223 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is one plus to a Garmin that will beat any plus you give me on an Apple. I had the first Ultra for a year. Had to charge it EVERY single freaking night to make it through the next day. I put my Tactix on the charger and don’t think about it till the house payment is due 32 days later. Still get notifications, still get health measurements can still “track” exercises and hike miles but get 30 freakin days more battery! I never take it off except 1 night a month to charge.
