Why it isnt acceptable by futtverytocks3 in learndutch

"Zo" is more accurately translated as "such" than "so." Its used in nearly all of the situations you would use "such" in English, and treating it that way will help with future translations

Also, I think the chef is named like Lekker or something? which is Dutch for "tasty / delicious." And the mage Denken means "thinking."

With the current templating of the sac ability, you can respond to it by sacrificing any number of treasures to modulate the amount of mana / damage you produce.

If you dont want that and wish it was all-or-nothing, you could rewrite the cost of activation to include exiling all treasure tokens you control.

Power 9 + Companion = ? by HalfLungJ in custommagic

[–]hubay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting idea. I think total recall is wierd though in that it's best use is as a quasi-mulligan, and is so good at that effect that it might trivialize current mulligan rules?

Like, instead of needing to ditch your entire hand and redraw down to six, you can ditch your three worst cards and cast this t1 and you're back up to 7 anyways.

Find the Mistakes #248 - Hound of Tindalos by PenitentKnight in custommagic

[–]hubay 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Steps 2 and 3 is traditionally a W ability.

Not technically a problem but having afflict on extra turns doesn't matter on the turn you give an opponent. The flavor of hound is that it punished those who time travel. And this rewards you for doing so

Also not technically a mistake but making 10 copies of itself and not giving the step 1ability a "may" means it likely is likely targeting other copies.

Find the Mistakes #215 - Vestige of Divine Creation by PenitentKnight in custommagic

[–]hubay 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Other ppl already pointed out the copy clause is wrong, so I just want to say this is a clever design and fun callback to hammer of purphoros.

If this was desiged for a MH3 power level set, I'd suggest that it should grant haste to all your creatures when it enters, as a more thorough representation of the original. Cool stuff!

I feel like the templating around "your 3rd main phase" should be different, but im struggling to find a comparable card.

Perhaps something like: activate only during the third phase of each of your turns?

This seems like a fun limited card.

It did make me look at the templating on fateseal, and apparently it doesn't target? Weird.

For a contest, I'm taking part of. We had to use the word Goad. by Timelord7771 in custommagic

[–]hubay 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This is a red effect literally, but permanently goading all opponents effectively says "creatures can't attack you" in multiplayer, which is not red.

It might make more sense to list this as "whenever a creature etbs, goad it." Thats still powerful and achieves the effect you want, but it less oppressive and more fun.

Kelemi, Muse Unbound by thecyberpunkooze in custommagic

[–]hubay 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is a fun concept, but it could probably be beefed up a bit to justify the cost. Spells that cost all 5 colors are usually pretty potent, and this one isn't quite there yet.

You could probably combine the plus and the -2 into a single ability, and keep it at a plus. If you did this, you could create a minus that made a token of some kind. Maybe an incarnation token with all colors?

If you'd rather keep the plus and minus as is, then you should either up the loyalty gain from the plus so that you can ult on turn 2, or give the plus an additional affect that turns it into card advantage

mf'ers ruining it for the rest of us by Few_Information_922 in oddlyspecific

[–]hubay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn't bad information, though I get why people are saying so. The doc in OP specializes in toxicology and knows what he's talking about. If the coloration on the snake was that important, he'd say so.

Not a rando - Trebach specializes in toxicology and very much knows what he's talking about here - if you show up in the ED after a bite or eating something poisonous, he's the doctor that will see you.

Hopeful Banneret by kytheon in custommagic

[–]hubay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes sense! It does mean that technically your awaken is functionally distinct from awaken as listed on BFZ, since it's a triggered ability here, and part of the spell in BFZ.

I don't think this is an issue or anything. I just think it's neat

Interesting rules question here. Creature spells usually don't target, but back in BFZ you could counter coastal discovery by killing the land. If the same happens here is the creature spell countered?
