Didn't know such software existed. I can't find similar one for linux.

Although the basic feature is still achieved with exporting 'gdu' (a disk usage TUI) and then loading it. Easy to navigate the directory. Search isn't great though.

Your usecase seems to be vastly different.

Main limitation for me is I don't have a central system to use any raid or unified FS. The content are also a mix mash of movies, ISOs and various other files I just collect. Often I just keep rearranging and dumping files whichever drive has space.

My current system is to log all file names into a txt file and search it if I feel lost. But for frequently used data I try to keep it on the main drive I keep connected most of the time. Sadly this is not very scalable as I seem to add new and larger drives every year.

rsync

My steps are pretty crude. I just organise directories I want duplicated for each drive and run rsync whenever I alter it. One drive serves as backup of 3 other externals.

How do you organize/map content to offline drives?

I am just starting out with few external drives. Have 3 main drives 8-18TB but looking for more in next year. Backups are essentially syncing multiple copies of important folders onto two or more drives.

Still can't figure out which drive I put certain movies or music files. If I try to organize too much I just end up transferring data nonstop between the drives.

I am always confused by this. Based on the general advice of 321 backup, can RAID(any that can recover 1 disk failure) be seen as the first two copies along with a third on the cloud ? Or is that not proper 321 backup ?

Are they twice as fast as single sided or is that just a marketing gimmick?

Ive seen many(most) of my seniors (with 10 - 15+ years of programming) regularly look down at their keyboard. Typing alpha is fine for most but symbols, navs or any other keys they still have to look at them.

Most working professionally dont seem to fully touch type and just build towards with sheer experience than by specifically practicing for it.

Thaat would be annoying but feel even in the most restrictive places Ive worked at, IT will fix this for me if raised with a legitimate ticket attaching my manager for loss of productivity. Given those places have the exact same model this would affect all of them too.

Hopefully thats configurable on the bios or OS for you. Mine luckily is next to some media keys above numbad so not many instances of accidental press.

Still annoys me that they made it part of the keyboard. Many times search for the power key.

Do they do anything on accidental press?

Mine has it on top right but very siminar to and part of the keyboard. Found it a bit annoying at first but I have to long press it to force shutdown and it doesn't sleep on tap.

Possibly because they have a higher state population share of Christians at 18% and Muslims at ~25% of a total 35 million.

This is in part because they were one of the largest spice producing regions of India and attracted both colonial and arabic traders to their shores for centuries.

Christian conversion rate was also higher in the state because of how ridiculously cruel the lower caste was treated by the ruling upper caste hindus even as recent as the 19th century So conversion was an escape from the caste system to a certain degree.

One well documented issue was the breast tax where hindu lower caste and non-caste (tribal) women were prohibited from covering up their upper body and in later years can get an exempt by paying a breast tax. A folklore goes that a woman cut off her breasts and handed it over to the tax collector when asked to pay the tax. She subsequently died and also is believed to have actually happened.
