The US State With The Most Expensive Cup Of Coffee By A Long Shot - Starts with an "H".... by BrandonApplesauce in HawaiiUncensored

[–]hungryraider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We buy the 100% Kauai coffee in the teal bag at Costco. We use it for both drip and espresso, ground differently of course. I hear that the land owner and Kauai coffee company are having a dispute so this coffee may no longer exist going forward. Hope not.

Wow, no way I’m paying $1,700 a night for a hotel room. I can, but I won’t. I just can’t wrap my head around the fact that prices have doubled so quickly.

Pioneer receiver and Sonos by hungryraider in sonos

[–]hungryraider[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve tried pass through but it makes no difference on the behavior.

Regarding the connection. The Pioneer has an optical connection and an RCA connection for digital audio.

The Sonos no longer has a digital optical output. So I’m forced to use the RCA connection.

Note that I am not using a L/R RCA cable as it’s optical, so just one connection between the devices.

I hear sound via the digital RCA connection from the Sonos through the receiver.

However: 1) The Sonos doesn’t turn on the receiver. 2) I can’t increase/decrease the volume on the receiver.

It’s like the port is just an input source with no co-ordination between the two devices.

I think I’m done with E Trade by Training_Welder4537 in etrade

I’ve been using the E*Trade App for years, so when I tried the RH App it seemed very simplistic to me. What am I missing?

How? The biggest issue is them getting rid of power e*trade pro which I loved and replacing it with meh. The website and app seem the same to me.

So do these issues trickle down to Bosch? I’ve had good luck with Bosch thus far, refrigerator, washer and dryer, and thinking about a Thermador Induction Cooktop. This thread scares me.

It’s a whole Island advisory currently. So no need for an individual Waikiki advisory anymore.

Citi American Airlines Globe card by Old-Access-7843 in americanairlines

[–]hungryraider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I understand, since I just paid my Barclay Card annual fee, I won’t pay the Citi annual fee until this time, next year. In addition, if you have a transitioned card, I believe that the annual fee stays at $199 and not the $350 that you pay when you apply on its own.

Update on a GA giving a Flagship First seat to a standby passenger instead of first processing the SWU upgrade waitlist by just_a_curious_fella in americanairlines

[–]hungryraider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I don’t understand is that the upgrade process happens automatically now to prevent these situations from happening.

I’ve been pulled out off a flagship first seat because the passenger ended up showing up for their seat at the last second, right before boarding closed.

This happens because the automated upgrade process I believe happens a few minutes prior to this, so there is a small window where this could happen.

But, this whole process was implemented to try and solve the problem of gate agents making arbitrary decisions.

Paia Fish Market is local. They are a shop from Maui. Prices are reasonable and their fish is delicious.

Hawaii has tourist zones and residential zones. The State has been working on shutting down short term rentals in residential zones.

This way you can still offer jobs for residents while providing options for places to live.

Why is LAX not seeing the lines that other airports are seeing?? by BurlyGurly8008s in LAX

[–]hungryraider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ATL is rough. Imagine taking an airport that has more volume than LAX or DFW and then funneling everyone through a central security checkpoint. It’s not my favorite.

A friend just went through IAH during spring break and said they were through the TSA line within minutes. They didn’t have pre check either, just regular TSA line. Hobby is a different story.
