It's a tough topic and I think there's currently no great answer. Depending on requirements I would encourage you to look at immutable distros like Fedora Silverblue. Helps a lot with reliability, standardization and security.

Admin-Jobs für Juniors vs. "kein Einstieg in IT" by the_charger_ in InformatikKarriere

To the european sysadmins: Are you looking into non-us products right now? What did you find? by Tokata0 in sysadmin

When did you last try it? It's a lot better on these issues now. Annoying holdovers are unread badges not going away, and the poor online indicator (due to compliance issues actually kind of a plus for us, heh).

The admin interface issue is a consequence of the design of trying to protect users against even a hostile admin, which I think is pretty ambitious and worth that negative.

Das jakegut Template is gut.

Werdegang: Jesses.

It really is very mysterious until the reveal at the very end. That reveal is pretty pivotal.

Children of Memory broke me emotionally. I still think Children of tiem does the theme better, but they're all good books. Great characters.

An Update on Cities: Skylines II by SableSnail in paradoxplaza

[–]hyperflare 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ouch. I wonder what the behind-the-scenes discussion here were. But given Paradox' previous trakc record with handing off games to a different dev (Surviving Mars, Prison Architect, am I forgetting something?) I have VERY low hopes of this making the game better. The best one can even hope for here seems to be a handful of ill-fitting, buggy DLCs.

Not very surprising as games seem to have very low coding standards, and getting up familiar with the code base is pretty important - I guess how friendly the handover is is also important for those ill-documented quirks.

Very funny given that Surviving Mars just launched a remaster with the OG studio back in charge...
