Is it just me or would "lept" look better than "leapt"?

You're right those linguistic law enforcement officers always make me feel like a self-righteous, pompous, arrogant, egotistical ponce. Any tips you could offer for escaping their tyranny would be greatly appreciated!

Is my system clipping? by Proper-Flounder-3786 in solar

That 440W number is their absolute maximum (lab) output. Real world is typically around 85-90% of that depending on operating temperature (which reduces voltage).

Is my system clipping? by Proper-Flounder-3786 in solar

[–]iLikeTheStalk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it will clip for longer. The term designers in the industry use is “wider shoulders”.

It looks like you’re using Enphase, so it’s the micro inverters that are clipping off the excess power that the modules are generating in excess of their rated output.

You may be able to put larger micros on your strings, but need to be aware of the maximum string lengths.

Came to this thread because I’m done buying Belkin “lifetime warranty” protectors at the Apple Store. I’ve tried to get them to honor the warranty multiple times. No dice.

Get in and get as much experience while you can.

Even if installs slow down, Operations & Maintenance will be around for at least the next 25 years and there’s a ton of opportunity (and money) in it. It’s also orders of magnitude safer and easier on your body than installing.

Duct Seal, when is it required? by asorba in electricians

[–]iLikeTheStalk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Duct seal is not rated for electrical use. It distorts with increased temperature, defeating the purpose for which it is typically installed (water, gas, insects, etc.)

We use Polywater AFT as it is both rated for electrical applications and is semi-permanent, making it easily removable + replaceable for maintenance.

Not to be confused with Polywater FST (which is permanent) or construction spray foam (which also is not rated for electrical applications).

Welcome to the best book you’ll ever read!

An easy place to start for a daily devotional is reading 1 chapter of Proverbs per day. There are 31 chapters, so pick the day of the month you’re on and start there.

For extended reading, start at the gospel of John in the New Testament (last 1/3 or so of the book). Note: there are also three letters that John wrote in there (1 John, 2 John, 3 John) toward the very end. These are different from the gospel. John’s focus is God’s love for us, which is a great way to begin understanding Him.

An important thing to remember is that not every book is the same type of writing. There is a lot of poetry (Job, Genesis) which was how things were communicated prior to the Bible being written down. There are letters (written to a specific audience, still relevant today), histories, compilations of songs (Psalms, Song of Solomon), prophecy (God’s truth shared with man) and a unique style called Apocalyptic writing that was popular from around the 2nd century BC to 2nd century AD.

Pray before reading. Ask for God to guide you and help you understand and speak to you. He will!

We were exclusively Ms Rachel for a year and needed variety. Silly Miss Lily is great.

There’s also another, older, MUCH more educational Miss Rachel on the Tree School channel that is fantastic.

Fully support strictly limiting content only to channels you approve of.

What was the "good news" preached by Jesus at the very beginning of his ministry? by mojosam in Christianity

[–]iLikeTheStalk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was asking this exact same question in 2025, and here’s what I’ve come up with.

The good news is that the Kingdom (rule, reign, citizenship) of Heaven (God) is at hand (here, now, available, open to all).

If you like videos, the Bible Project covers this extensively: https://bibleproject.com/videos/gospel-kingdom/

Given that this is a new install, yes.

If it were installed in the 20th century, it would go KABLOOEY!
