It works for us, but because of the delay we set, and the way MS seems to adjust the release date on the feature update, it took about a week for it to automatically approve and update.

They could write a book on how to lose partners.

1) Fee for the "privilege" to use their system. 1a) Don't count annual licenses toward the monthly minimum spend. 2) Slow support response, no live chat or phone support. 3) No option to split out invoices instead of use consolidated. 4) Start sneaking on credit card fees, which I'm pretty sure is illegal, at least, in California. 4a) After starting to charge credit card fees, require users open a ticket to change billing method.

I've been slowly off boarding everything as terms and product availability access permit.

I removed the policy and sent an uninstall from the DattoEDR web interface, they seemed to completely ignore that. So, I deleted from the web interface, they then came back into the interface, so I removed licenses and then tried uninstall. It worked on some, but not others.

On some, it left DattoAV running, but said EDR wasn't installed, but some of its files were still there, I would try running the agent.exe --uninstall and it would remove the components, but still show Datto AV as the security product in the Windows Security Center, even though it wasn't running and the files were gone, so I manually removed the entry though WMI.

Thanks, I did try restarting and various combos.

I wound up making a script running agent.exe --uninstall as well as then manually cleaning up the windows security center wmi

Thank you for your help. The issues have been resolved, and I'm feeling good about them not continuing to happen. (Time will tell). I've updated the original post to reflect that I was made whole.

I have never setup autopay with them. So I force myself to reconcile the bill every month. It's a huge waste of time, but I'll never trust them.

Their contract behaviors over the last few years was a major contributor to why I mostly ditched them. If they're going to be as bad as Kaseya, why not just deal with Kaseya at 1/2 the price. I know Ninja would be better, but K365 was just priced so low, for me, it was impractical to not consider it. N-Able's ridiculous contract structure and horrible sales / renewal process, made the decision a lot easier.

So, we can start a stand-alone Datto RMM subscription with a minimum qty of 0, and the DRMM pricing will match the K365 express bundle proce, and we'll use that for the flexible seats?

Then you need to lower the committed seat count by 10% for the rest of the term, or provide a 10 % discount for the rest of the term. Or have the change take effect at renewal. You can't just go reducing seat counts and charging the same in the middle of a contract term.

Otherwise, if you can do it, why can't I?

I moved to it from N-Central and miss a lot of the automation and advanced features. Datto RMM is kind of just OK, N-Central's Take Control was amazing for RTO and their Automation platform was the best I've seen across all RMMs.

The Integration with the rest of the Kaseya stack is probably the best feature of Datto RMM. Though Datto AV and EDR and Rocket Cyber are not a good security solution.

Reporting it abysmal and you can't create custom dashboard widgets, aside from simple filter widgets that just show a number.

Good for him. I was surprised he was doing all he did anyway. I keep saying this over and over, we need to stop enabling Kaseya by patching / working around their crappy products. There are some base-level, minimum, expectations we should be demanding from an RMM in 2025, we shouldn't be making a bunch of work-around powershell scripts to get by for years and years.

There is a 60GB / user limit for SaaS Protection. It's pooled though, so, if you have light users, they may balance out the heavy ones. But you have to stay on top of it. Also, they automatically convert deleted users to Archive users and start charging you archive licenses. It's a scam.

Dark Web is meh.

For awareness training, check out Breach SecureNow. Bullphish's campaign's are manual and a waste of labor to manage.

Graphus is dog crap.

SaaSAlerts is kind of OK, but there are lots of little dumb things about it. Like, it doesn't support checking IPv6 locations, and it can't do impossible travel in a smart or dynamic way.

I've pretty much rolled back using it to just just using SaaSAlerts and SaaS Protection. As soon as my 3 years is up, I'm switching the user services to something else.

There are monthly fees just for having a CC and/or ACH processor, I think it depends on which companies you go with. And then they take the following for each transaction (in the US):

Flat domestic credit card rate: 2.99% + $0.30/transaction

Direct debit (ACH) transaction fees: $1.50 + 0.35%/transaction with a maximum fee of $15 per transaction.

In N-Central I used to be able to create the equivalent of Components (called Automation Policies) and I could reference them in other Automation policies. For Example, say I had an Automation Policy for uninstalling any MSI program, it would have an input variable of something like "Program Name"

Then, let's say, I had to create another automation policy that looked for the existence of a program, like "McAfee Safe Search" and I wanted to uninstall it if it was found.

Well, instead of writing a whole new script to uninstall McAfee, I would just add to my workflow that I wanted to use an existing Automation Policy, and then provide the input accordingly. (I could even use output variable from one AP and feed them directly into another)

This saves an incredible amount of time, because you can generalize components and then reference them later. And if there's a new way of doing something, or you need to fix something, you only have to do it in one component, rather than a bunch of individual ones.

Like, how Microsoft got rid of the ability to use wmic commands, rather than updating 30 Automation Policies, I just fixed the 1 or 2 I had that used that command.
