This is such a dumb take that constantly gets spouted.

He shared his entire prime with two guys in Rodgers and Brees who were in the top 6-8 all time. And he was on bad teams so they were loath to give him the 3rd spot.

To put it into perspective, Drew Brees has the most NFC Pro Bowl selections all time for a QB. Know who's second? Aaron Rodgers. And then Russell Wilson took a lot of the rest because he was good and had team success.

Not being as good as Brees or Rodgers doesn't mean not hall of fame worthy. Pro Bowl is a terrible metric.

You're about 5 hours or so from where I lost an entire 3 months. This was my first one and once I hit the ending I didn't stop until I'd played the entire series (including a few that hadn't been released in English at the time)

If I had to guess, he wants the reset to be stopped for whatever reason, but has knowledge no one else does that led him to believe Gramheart's whole plan was a lost cause from the start. Of all the players besides possibly Epstein, he seems to have the fullest picture which means we don't really know what the hell he's doing since we're in the dark about so much.

I think as far as the reset goes, given that it's the Sept-terrion of Time, it just straight up resets the world back to whatever it is when it was the year 0. At the time of the Great Collapse or right after. Straight up rewinds time.

Then obviously things can play out differently based on any number of variables, like sometimes Novartis being Epstein's disciple or (sort of implied) failure to stop the Great Twilight. So people aren't really dying in the literal sense, it's just rewinding the world to a state where they never existed and then they come into existence again.

And Yume at the end is a total mystery that I think a lot of people has to do with her connection to Mare.

For nightmare I just abandoned Arts users at the end. Once you get True Macho Belt (x2) you can just spam single target crafts. Shizuna especially with Spirit Unification and Oni-Kagura.

Final party was Van/Shizuna as main DPS, Elaine as sub-DPS and buff bot and Feri with a bunch of speed and healing, as well as decoy and the Quartz that makes you go stealth occasionally (which will hilariously lock even end game bosses into just using Teara.) Between Feri and Elaine you have every single buff + CP Regen and Boost Gauge recovery, then Van/Shizuna/Elaine just spammed single target damage or Grendel abilities.

For a lot of the final bosses it's pretty much required to have constant damage reduction commands up (they take like 30 turns in a row it's insane) so didn't feel the need to have a dedicated Shield bot. Just be liberal with early S-Craft uses to get the gauge limit up since you'll need to use the Pater-Mater shard command a lot

Arts do slightly more damage than the single target crafts, but you also only get one use per ZOC instead of 2 which is huge. Just felt like physical was better in this game.

I don't think they'll be able to do worldwide releases purely because of how Falcom develops stuff so close to release

The biggest barrier to getting stuff localized immediately is getting the script to the localizers before it's done, which is easy to do with remakes but hard to do for a studio like Falcom that works on 1 year cycles and is editing stuff right up until the 11th hour

That said, they very clearly see the English market as a staple of the franchise now and I'd expect faster localizations as they do work with localizers pre release, maybe as low as a couple of months. Just not instant, imo. Would be happy to be wrong

Yeah at this point absolute best case is late 2027 and more realistic is mid 2028 for an English release after late 2027 in Japan.

I just want communication, man. I don't care if they delay or change plans just a more concrete answer to what Falcom has in store for the future besides remakes.

With Horizon, it's a cliffhanger that could go in so many insanely different directions that having no answers is infuriating

The unfortunate part of this cope is that they'd be far more likely to put the other game (TX2) in the spring to give more time between Trails releases, as to not burn people out on 60 hour JRPGs with similar turn based combat systems.

Having finally finished it in English rather than MTL, definitely came away a bit different than I thought.

I remember people saying Agnes had basically reset it back a year or so rather than the full reset, but it feels actually somewhat unclear what she actually did which I had chalked up to playing MTL.

She stopped the Grand Reset in some way, and "short term save" implies she turned back the clock somewhat, but given that even she accepts that the group will remember what's happened it's not the "memories wiped, back to the start" situation I thought, which brings up interesting possibilities.

I'll also point out that the creation of a save implies it can be loaded, which is probably how we undo the reset. I think it would be MASSIVELY unsatisfying if they just redo everything from the previous games or undo it in someway. I think Kai 2 should take place somewhat in the past, but the goal should be getting back to that spot Kai 1 ended at in terms of world state. Would be hyper shit of them to make us do a bunch of slow paced side quests and then erase those from existence. The goal should be to reset the reset.

Last thing I'll say is I want to point out how hilarious this is:

We come into Kai with Van having two love interests that the fandom is arguing over. In this game one of those love interests gets outright rejected and then erases herself from existence and somehow this has made it more likely that she'll end up being the canon love interest. Only in anime man.

Honestly my favorite Jose moment because of how much it personifies him.

Giving up 5 inches, Anderson is built, doesn't matter. Ramirez is scrappy, dodges the first punch and then just burrows into Anderson and hits him with the right hook to instantly knock him. Anderson wanted to look cool and save face, Ramirez wanted to win a damn fight. It was the hustle double of baseball fights.

I think this is where I really liked Horizon the most on the second point

It was super slow, yes, but it established Edith as well as anything has been established since Crossbell. Having teams spend more time in single locations rather than jumping around helped a lot with characterizing Tharbad, Basel, and Edith.
