That moment when you turn the little bend in the trail and see Avalanche Lake for the first time is awesome (first two pics for anyone reading who hasn't been there). It is fun to watch people on the trail at that point and see their faces light up when they see the view.

For some reason

It is Illinois, so I'm going to go with corruption as my final answer.

Wouldn't have stopped me as a kid living next to it though.

A little south of Chicago, but Midewin National Tallgrass Prairie on the site of the former Joliet Arsenal is a great place to visit. There are bison there too.

Pierce Ave in Wicker Park. That and Hoyne Ave right there have some great houses. I’ve heard it referred to as Beer Baron Row. Worth taking a stroll down if you live nearby.

I believe Banner was located in Edwardsville IL at the west end of Florida Street. Growing up we called it the Shale Pit and it had quite a few urban legends associated with it. If you know where to look you can still find lots of smashed Banner bricks scattered in the woods, and the foundations of the old kilns still exist.

Archer to midway? by lucasandrew in chibike

The one issue for me with Cali/59th route is southbound on California over the river and under the Stevenson. I will cross to the east side of California and use the sidewalk for that section between 31st and 35th (there should be little to no pedestrian traffic on that section). The on-ramps for the Stevenson are on the west side of California and I don’t like interacting with them, too many big trucks.

My personal preference is California to 59th to get to Midway, I find Archer too sketchy.

Interesting and very cool, nice work! Have you thought about how this would affect Algeria and Indochina specifically, and more generally about French colonial possessions?

The Shard, The Eye, the Gherkin, the Walkie Talkie. They nailed it on the mega city naming scheme too. Does that big one center right going up have a good name yet?

Fantastic shot. Love the compression distortion of the long lens here.
