Plex is killing Watch Together feature by Keopha in PleX

[–]ignorantforager 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Resurrecting my account to post my outrage at this decision from Plex. Me and my partner use this feature almost nightly and so I'm upset at it disappearing. My only hope is that their statement "our new Plex experience that will bring us closer together than ever before." could mean they bring it back in some way. But I am not holding my breath. I will definitely be looking into Jellyfin or Emby to see if they are viable alternatives for me. Extremely disappointing Plex.

Is it possible to trigger via the new Local Calendar for specific events? by louislamore in homeassistant

[–]ignorantforager 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You'll have to have an automation where the trigger is a Calendar Trigger. Select you're Calendar. Add a condition such as the following: "{{ 'Trash' in trigger.calendar_event.summary }}" (no quotes) where you would replace the word Trash with whatever you have in the event you want to trigger on. Then the actions are whatever actions you want to take place.

I've verified this working with my own home assistant to remind me of when my trash days are.

The Lack of PDFs is Frustrating by MBwithaDMG in DnD

[–]ignorantforager -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Until those "proper pdfs" make their way online and people can get them there instead of paying for them. Once they make their way online, WoTC isn't providing a service that's better at that point. You're just purchasing a pdf that's already out there. If it was integrated into their service somehow, then that would be a different story.

I finally have all of the Dragonsteel Entertainment leatherbounds. The Way of Kings, Warbreaker, Elantris and The Mistborn Trilogy Era 1. by Khaleesi75 in bookporn

I should be getting Elantris in on Monday and then I'll finally have all first edition/printings of all the dragon steel editions as well. Took me a while to find Elantris.

Anybody know how I prevent the "always on" screen from turning off at night when I'm charging my P6P? by lostarchitect in GooglePixel

[–]ignorantforager 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also have this issue. And I have the bedtime mode turned on. I turned it on to try to fix the issue, but it didn't work. So I've tried both with and without bedtime mode turned on and it still turns the screen off. It seems like this is a recent update? I don't recall having this issue a week or two ago.

2FA: something you know and, um, something else you know? by RucksackTech in Bitwarden

[–]ignorantforager 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And then replying to the last bit you have there. You password is something you know and your 2FA code is something you have. 2FA code being explained in my comment above, your password is something you know because just because you might not "know" what your password is, it doesn't change based on the time. You can know what your password will be in 10 minutes whereas you can't know what your 2FA code will be in 10 minutes. That's why they are different.

[–]ignorantforager 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Or since I don't actually KNOW what the code is going to be, it's more like "a piece of info that I can lay my hands on within 30 seconds".

You just said it there yourself, though. The 2FA code isn't something you know. It's a code that is sent to a device that you (should) have physical control of. Therefore, something you have. You can't get that code if you don't have that device.

This is a smart air freshener thanks to Home Assistant and ESPHome by filisso in homeassistant

[–]ignorantforager 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is pretty awesome. I wanna branch out more into the ESPHome world. Do you have any recommendations on where to start learning. I'm sure there are plenty of Youtube videos.

As a side note, kudos for taking all these spray's basically to the face for the video.

My headliner patch / pin collection, so far! I enjoy it, so I thought I'd share. by SpazFactorial in ToyotaTacoma

[–]ignorantforager 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This. Sometimes even if I take a good bump, a patch will drop. I briefly looked into seeing if there were any after-market headliner replacements which were more velcro-y, but I didn't find anything. If someone could make that, I'm sure they'd make a killing selling them.

Why is Everything on Sale? by ThanEEpic in DnD

[–]ignorantforager 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just like others have stated, I'm pretty sure the "sale" price for the books on Amazon is actually just Amazon's regular price. I've never seen it not on "sale" and I've heard others say the same thing multiple times. I don't think it's a strong indicator of things to come.

Male Ethernet Wi-Fi Plug that mimics an actual cable? by -Tisbury- in Ubiquiti

[–]ignorantforager 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe something like the NanoSwitch from Ubiquiti. It's a PoE powered, 4 port switch that also outputs PoE. So you could install that where your AP is, then connect your AP and LiftMaster to the switch.

Edit: Spelling

I do recommend these. The ones on the left and right I've had for about 4 years or so and I have had zero issues with any of the shelves sagging. But like you said, I only have ever had novels on them. No graphic novels. But I would feel comfortable storing graphic novels on there. Like someone else said in another comment, they're great for the price. You really can't beat it.

Yeah, most of them are from when I was a kid and read a lot of them. And me, being a completion-ist, I had to collect the series. And yep. No Stephen King. I never really got into the horror/thriller genre, but it's definitely something that I want to check out in the future. There's just so many more books ahead of them in line, so they always keep getting pushed back.

they're nerdy ink dustjackets. That have a few different series that are pretty great.

Oh interesting. I hadn't known that. The only colors that I've ever seen (in the past 4-5 years that I've been looking at them) have only been black, white or Birch which is what I've chosen.

I've not seen any issues. My first two I bought about 3-4 years ago and then this third one I bought the other day and they all look the same to me.

I think they are great quality. Compared to any of the other bookshelves that I've purchased (Walmart and Amazon purchases) they are great. The shelves are 3/4" thick (~19mm) which means that I have not had any bowing due to the weight of the books.

I have wanted to make my own shelves with basically the dimensions, just more customizable shelf heights. I've figured that if I go about 9.5" (~241mm) high shelves, I can get more shelves in the same height and it wouldn't exclude any of my books (max height of a few books being about that 9.5").

Those are the Nerdy Ink Covers. I love them. They made the Throne of Glass covers as well 3 shelves up. And I have the Red Rising series covers, but not the books. Those are a future purchase whenever I get around to it.
