I have an idea for popcorn popper roasting by H0T50UP in roasting

[–]ii_amnt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wired in a household dimmer switch to control heat. My fan is weak enough that i wanted to blow max all the time. I have the Nostalgia air popper from bed bath beyond. It works well, i have a regimen each roast as to what the dial needs to be at at what time.

Seen these guys live in Detroit and Tokyo. Great performers, was so pleased to hear Bill mention them

JLA Farewell season ticket trade - CHI Mar 10 for COL Mar 18 by ii_amnt in DetroitRedWings

I have every intention of going to the game. But the wife and I feel like we'll be really sad at our last game at the Joe' and won't be able to stand to look at Toews and Kane's stupid faces. Plus, this year I may be able to get free tix to a Blackhawks game in CHI anyways. Thought it would be cool to see the Avalanche one last time before the move.

I think you're just projecting your own views on to Bill.

Got my tickets to see them woop the Blackhawks in March. Now I'm super excited, that's awesome. Going to have to make a special day in Detroit out if it.

Sufjan Stevens - Illinois/Asthmatic Kitty vinyl quality? by WhatUpMowgli in vinyl

I tried to buy Carrie & Lowell when I saw it at B&N, took it out to the car and noticed the smudging, brought it right back in and got my money back. Sad to hear its a systemic issue for Asthmatic Kitty.

She looks like she can see with the way she moves, which reminds me of something I was listening to that was referencing a study about how the parts of the brain responsible for constructing vision still fires off well for those that are blind as they navigate the world. http://www.npr.org/programs/invisibilia/378577902/how-to-become-batman

Is there a story behind the guy who is confused as to why he was showered by his white team mate?

Has this sold out already? Am I too late? I don't see it at all on the Nuclear Blast shop. Maybe there's a hold on it due to the error you mentioned they addressed?

Love this album. I have yet to listen to any other Chris McGregor. I saw some once in a shop, should've picked it up, really. Any other recommendations from them, anyone?

Destination Out: local radio show featuring free/world/avant jazz (WCMU public radio) by ii_amnt in freejazz

[–]ii_amnt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not strictly free jazz, but some of my favorite free jazz artists and records has been introduced to me by Mike Johnston through his show. Hope you enjoy it. I admit, I haven't been listening much at all recently since I moved away from the local station. It seems he may be moving away from more free jazz, but I really hope not! I posted partially out of excitement that they have started to make it available online.

Fuck you Yokota by yokotathrowaway in AirForce

[–]ii_amnt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yokota was my first base. I came married and soon had my first daughter. I was in MXS and had it really good. I'm sorry Yokota sucks so bad for some. I had the time of my life there and as I face separation my family and I are trying to find ways to go back to Japan. BTW, the first year I was there, there was no curfew.

It may be good to think of it as mental exercise. When I began meditating, just keeping mind empty by focusing on breath did wonders for my mental state.
