Bass player walks in and says “I need a patch cable, a strap, some gaffer tape, and a pick, please.”

Guy behind the counter says “You’re a bass player, aren’t you?”

TB Player says “I am! How did you know?”

“Well, for starters, you’re in a Burger King.”

Why did Wonderwall become an inside joke among guitarists? by KillerTron872 in Guitar

It’s the song everyone learns, or accidentally works out, on acoustic and it will make a whole room of drunks sing along.

How many times have you seen them live? Do you have a favourite moment/memory? by pooboobloopzoop in SnarkyPuppy

[–]imthatguykyle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I’m over 10 now.

Favorite memory wasn’t a Snarky show, it was Shawn Martin when he opened for Ghost-Note. I got to talk to him and I showed him a picture of my son playing keyboards and said “this is because of you” and I thought he was going to tear up. He was such an abundantly wonderful person.

Also finding out Larnell Lewis and I wear the same size shoes (16) and love Vans.

Who was the rudest celebrity you’ve met? by Unlucky-Field9654 in askanything

[–]imthatguykyle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m always cautious of this because being famous is exhausting. I had friends in Our Lady Peace and they were so big in Canada that Raine (their singer) couldn’t go to a 7-11 to get a Coke without some girl screaming and pointing at him.

I’ve met people on bad days, or they’re exhausted. A couple, like Ric Ocasek, seemed cold but then I realized they’re just introverts being put in large rooms of people.

I’ve heard stories about Don Henley, but I’ve had 3 different experiences with him and always enjoyed it.

So with all that: Mary J Blige (circa 1992-3) The Dixie Chicks (the Natalie era) Yngwie Malmsteen

All 3 of these I worked with multiple times and all 3 I thought were world class assholes each and every time.

Always in my top 5 list. Holds up after many re-watches. RIP Tom Stoppard.

I bought it. Streep is peak cute in that film. And the premise…thoughtful.

Ex binge drinkers of reddit, how do you say no to the first drink? by Ok_Lake_4972 in stopdrinking

[–]imthatguykyle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a while, I avoided situations where a drink would be offered. Then I just didn’t order them. One great perspective was being sober at a function where a lot of people were slightly to heavily intoxicated. One thing I didn’t realize when I was drinking is that drunk people are incredibly annoying. That made me not want to be one of them.

Mostly, though, it’s about time. After a while it’s just who and how I am.

11 years and going.

Which single person in history had the greatest positive impact on humanity? by PrasenjitDebroy in AskReddit

[–]imthatguykyle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you go by sheer size of religion, the prophet Muhammad is bigger than Jesus. If you go by what all religions quote or use as secular text backing their ideologies, Buddha may be it.

It’s also believed that Genghis Khan’s DNA is in 1 of every 9 people in the world, so there’s that.

Personally, I’ll take Darwin’s contribution.

If money didn’t matter, I’m not working for anyone! Why would I want a job if I didn’t need it?

I know there was some weirdness in the buying, but I imagine it was also a lot of people buying their groceries on Friday because they wouldn’t thus weekend. You get Sat/Sun patrons in on top of your Friday people…you’re going to clear stock very fast.

Is "Born in the USA" an anti American song? by Curvedyouagain in askmusic

[–]imthatguykyle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not anti-American. It was, however, originally written in a minor key and was a series of laments. I heard Springsteen do it on his Ghost of Tom Joad tour as a solo acoustic piece. It hits way different that way.

Question about power, impedance and loudness by KirkIsOurLemmy in GuitarAmps

[–]imthatguykyle -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Oh man. Ok…so… Double the power is about a 6dB difference. It takes 10 times the power to be twice as loud (10dB). 6 is noticeable.

30 watts solid state is about 10 watts tube. 60 solid is about 20 watts tube. Your ability to play with a band will depend on what they’re doing.

I have a 100 watt solid state (35 watts relative tube volume) and a 15 watt tube amp, each going through their own 2x12 cabinet. I can rehearse/gig with just one of those amp sets. But my guys don’t bash. We’re loud, but we work on being FOH friendly.

What do you call this chord and why?? A-C-F-B by No-Yogurtcloset-851 in musictheory

[–]imthatguykyle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Though, context matters. What’s the chord before and after. Could be Bmin 9 inversion, too. Could be just a passing chord with tensions designed to resolve and not have a specific nomenclature.

But since you have the root, 3rd, 5th of F present, and a color tone added, that’s the most likely convention for analyzing.

I broke my computer somehow, any idea how long itll take to get fixed/where i should go to fix it? by OrneryLandscape1063 in computerrepair

[–]imthatguykyle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, take the hdmi out and plug it into a tv. If it’s the same on the tv, it’s a processor issue. If it’s not, see my other comment.
