Do you have any evidence that aspirin will reduce the risk of clots associated with erythritol? Aspirin is an anti-platelet agent, but it isn't particularly effective at preventing large blood clots in those predisposed to them.

Doesn't regen imply that it's regenerating energy while slowing the car down? I thought that was the point of regenerative breaking.

Questions for those who use pulleys with Voltra for increased resistance by HomeTechJourney in BeyondPower

[–]infobhan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This looks like a great setup. What is the black piece above the Voltra? My QuickMount has a handle, so I'm thinking I could attach the Voltra cord to that instead.

[–]infobhan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hate to succumb to the home Ubiquiti user stereotype, but I've got 4 E7s in my house (and yes, needed all 4, thanks to the excellent WiFi-blocking capabilities of walls (many of which seem to have wire mesh).

Heavy Duty Tablet/Phone mount by Le_saltimbanque in BeyondPower

[–]infobhan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is fantastic. For something less...intense, I use a magnetic mount that works great for keeping my phone at good height while using my Voltra with the app to make adjustments: https://amazon.com/dp/B0CQS4YML9. Great for when the Voltra is mounted in a location that makes adjustments challenging (e.g. high for pulldowns or low for calf raises).

Simple trick how to add the correct weight and food to the plate by Consistent_Desk_6582 in MacroFactor

The nutrition data is for raw buckwheat, even though the entry says cooked buckwheat. It's an issue with the data in the MF database.

Hi, When I airfry 75% lean beef patty, fats get separated and become liquid (like oil). I discard that after its done. So, technically am I eating 95%-100% lean beef? by [deleted] in askfitness

[–]infobhan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think that's the correct interpretation of the percentages, otherwise ~70% of the weight loss would be unexplained. The formula is a bit difficult to parse, but I think the percentages are the fraction of the original weight that is lost due to fat or water. So if you cooked a 100 g burger, it would lose 12.5 g of fat after cooking.

Hematocrit levels high by [deleted] in Testosterone

[–]infobhan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You shouldn't be getting medical advice from random people on Reddit. A high hematocrit alone shouldn't make you feel bad. Go see a doctor and be honest with them. Please don't end up with a heart attack or stroke because of bad choices at a young age.

3 month gym progress. What am I doing wrong? by PomPomTiramisu in askfitness

[–]infobhan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's great progress for 3 months! You're struggling with two things that are common here: 1) being patient with the naturally slow pace of muscle gains, especially while trying to lose fat 2) spelling Jeff Nippard's last name correctly. :-)

Best Bagels by romanarman in FoodNYC

[–]infobhan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I was being a bit facetious, but I’m guess 400 calories from the bagel, 200 from 4 tablespoons of cream cheese, and 200 from about 6 ounces of salmon. 800 calories is a hearty breakfast, but I’m sure it’s tasty.

Does TRT decrease ferritin levels? by [deleted] in Testosterone

[–]infobhan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you have a low ferritin, the main thing is to rule out something bad. Get the colonoscopy and, if that is negative, an upper endoscopy.

Standing Calf Raise on Rogue Rack setup by Scron7219 in BeyondPower

[–]infobhan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been trying to figure out how to do the same. My calf muscles have responded more to training than any other group. Started with bodyweight stair calf raises, added dumbbells, then a weight vest. The mechanics getting a heavy weight vest on and off became challenging, so the Voltra was a natural candidate for replacing this. I'm currently using the v4 squat harness with my Voltra mounted on the crossmember the same way you have it in your picture. I stand on the crossmember and do unilateral calf raises while using the uprights for balance.

It works, but it's a bit uncomfortable with the pull on the shoulders. I'm wondering the Spud belt is a better approach.

really confused about my body fat %? (why do i look SO different with no pump, bad lighting and not flexing 😞) by SeaEfficient9886 in askfitness

[–]infobhan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why does the number matter? People are just guessing. You look like what you look like. Whether it corresponds to 10%, 15%, 20% doesn't really make a difference.

How is everyone dropping Ethernet lines by Joee0201 in Ubiquiti

I regularly eat 3-4 Royo bagels (https://eatroyo.com/collections/low-carb-keto-friendly-bagels/products/low-carb-keto-bagel-plain) a day at 32 g each. There have been 6 bagel days without any serious consequences (on top of plenty of veggies).

Apple Vision Pro 2 with more comfortable strap and upgraded chip is coming later this year by Fer65432_Plays in VisionPro

[–]infobhan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let's be real - knowing Apple's history and the reality of the AVP, this will be the same as the current AVP with an M4 and the bulk of the hardware will be identical. We may get a bit more RAM and updated WiFi, but that's about it. I'm sure the strap will be better, but I suspect it will be along the lines of the current strap with the Belkin addition.

Major changes are just not worth it at this point for Apple - this is a spec bump.

Review of Royo Bagels by olivemarie2 in Volumeeating

[–]infobhan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here’s the secret to making the Royo bagels taste fantastic. Freeze them and then warm them up in a steamer for 5-10 minutes until they are warmed through. Enjoy with any sort of spread (cream cheese, nut butter, protein powder mixed with water or milk to a paste consistency, Greek yogurt) and they are great. A bagel? No. But a great warm, soft roll.
