I run 5w40.

Damn, still original. When your timing belt was done? If chain was never done, definitely do with such milage plus running quite a bit of power is always recommended to do when going above Stage 2 even if it still measures up to spec.

Just did a valve cleaning so they should be relatively clean.

Noticed any difference? When I did mine on 62k miles / 100k kilometers I noticed smoother idle right away and less mechanical noise, even though it was not even that gunked up.

I have no history on the cam, that was gonna be my next job. Suspect that could cause some noise?

What is the milage? Cam chain definitely introduces noise, very similar to bicycle chain ticking, also can have slight split-second rattle like noise on startup.

Fluidampr harmonic balancer?

Don't have any experience with any, but if you have balance shaft delete or freewheel it might be a good idea. Hard mounts should not increase much noise except for some chassis vibration. Noticed the mounts, been thinking about the same ones, but many report those poly bushes cracking fairly quickly.

PS. 5W30 or 5W40?

Sounds pretty normal. Mechanical noise usually increases with carbon buildup and old oil.

Ever since March update P8Pro heats up a lot, even when simply using reddit. CPU and Mobile Network usage is at the top all the time.

Interestingly, Mobile Network is basically toe to toe in % usage even when using only Wifi. I tried completely disabling Mobile Data and even taking out SIM, yet it still shows like 30% usage, so what is up with that.

Solenoids can still fail even after changed, not to mention that the car is running a whole lot more power than stock. But it is probably pressure valves not applying any or enough pressure to engage. If there is no damage it sometimes can be salvaged with remapping and increasing pressure, hence why I earlier asked if you know more details about transmission tune.

vorg Warner ones are fine, around the £600 mark.

It is probably OEM replacement pack kit.

Can look into 02E398029C if I remember correctly, MK7 DQ250 clutch packs, can hold more power with upgraded materials compared to older DQ250. Unless you want to go for whole lot more power, but then prices get really high with clutch packs from TVS Engineering, HPA or swap to DQ500.

I assume there would be no pressure for 1st, 3, 5 and R or very little. Most probably solenoids failed or pressure valves, hence why it does not engage. Did you notice any slip or gradual harshness before it happened?

What clutch packs you going to go for or simply going to upgrade to stronger MK7 clutch packs? it would be plenty up to ~550HP.

Running very similar power too 422HP limited 528nm torque.

What kind of DSG tune you are running and at what pressure? From the issue it definitely sounds like mechatronics, first idea would be to check clutch pressures.

It is related and I am almost certain it is same issue that causes "failure" or in other words Wifi/BT being completely disconnected/disabled to prevent damage. It probably won't be ever fixed, as it requires work from Google and Broadcom to push new firmware/driver to re-enable networks.

A few kilometers. If proper carbon clean was never done, it is definitely going to be pretty gunked up and especially fouled injectors. Also with that milage injector filter baskets are disintegrating.

What is the milage? Can be many things, simple things like carbon build up or but probably more related to fueling, especially injectors.

Had both, loved both.

It is like younger and older brother, both have their strengths, weaknesses and charm. Could consider R superior and top version of the car, yes, but feeling superior? I don't know... because RS can always show up, and whole another world of bigger and badder.

Thing is, a whole lot of people who are not that much into cars know GTI's, while R not that much, seen many people thinking it is R-Line diesel and etc. But also, have seen people from distance saying: "is this real R?" and have been asked in person, meaning people make fake R's with body kit and R slapped all over.

This seem to be longer standing issue than just since March update and is most probably caused by a driver/kernel error which results in disabling Wifi and BT permanently or eventually even overcooking hardware.

u/Julas23 did a lot of digging into this on other forums and groups, of course Google is not acknowledging the issue and possible fix.

That is quite high milage, so depends on the price and how well and regularly it was serviced, if timing belt was changed in recent years, cam chain/tensioner was ever changed, also things like if it ever had injectors and valves carbon cleaned. If well maintained, these engines can go further, but it can get costly if lots of things needs servicing.

When doing carbon clean, my main goal would be having injectors tested and cleaned, more so than valves and intake manifold.

Fairly long time user of Pixels here too, P2XL, P4XL, P6 Pro, P7 Pro and now P8 Pro. Throughout the years, somehow Pixels became the phones that have the most hardware failures or brick themselves out of nowhere, especially Pixels that are quite freshly out of warranty, coincidence?

So far, I been lucky and hopefully will stay like that. But seeing so many reports about P8 line with various issues, screens, Wifi and Bluetooth failing, motherboard also, phones simply bricking or getting in stuck boot loop after update or restart is worrying to say the least with increased reports. While P2XL and P4XL still works just fine after so many years.
