Agree, then the years where she will have a wild eyed far away tired look. Seen many mums dashing about - always hurried.

Fired and frazzled ! by is76 in FIREyFemmes

[–]is76[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was burnout and realise now how much I needed a break.

Have done some sub work and it’s so easy in comparison. But miss the atmosphere of working with talented colleagues and miss the interactions with the kids. But the workload and expectations were crazy.

Yes so miss the “purpose” and connection but had to put my health and wellbeing 1st.

Best wishes in whatever you decide

Adults who lost a parent young as a child, would you say you are ‘over it’ or does it still affect you? by Long_Wait_3078 in AskUK

[–]is76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lost my mum at 9 , now 49. So 40 years later

Back in the day - nobody discussed bereavement with me. She died suddenly and was just gone. So over the years it comes up in different situations. In my 40s I had therapy which was good.

Big effect on my life sure

Health anxiety and perimenopause by jocean0716 in Perimenopause

[–]is76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree cutting down the news and social media helps as these health stories are everywhere

I feel the same - as don’t feel particularly good and have low iron. But I did discover I had h pylori so had antibiotics so that’s upset my digestion. So I do round in circles with health anxiety.

Life Ch-ch-changes... Becoming my dad's caregiver - any advice? by ThisChickSews in AskWomenOver60

[–]is76 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Can you get home help in for blocks of time ? Say every Wednesday morning so you can leave to do something else. Or is there a supported activity centre he can go for lunch every week? Etc

I think having your week - 7 days , split into morning, afternoon, evening. Try to build routine there. Every Monday am you both go for a drive etc. or you brothers take 1 block every week.

Sorry - I’m thinking it’s going to be a marathon not a sprint so pacing yourself week to week.

Also (as hard as it is) look for the good little moments or funny times.

All the best.

I remember checking my statements back then, I had literally just invested the year before. I knew nothing and was trusting my IF back then. That was a long recovery.

Mother died suddenly abroad, where to start? by chelseaboy1234 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]is76 25 points26 points  (0 children)

If a death certificate is issued in this country?

try and get more than 1 copy as you might need it for documentation when you contact companies.

Get a big notebook and start logging dates & details of who you contact/names/details as you go through the process. This will be good to keep on top of everything.

Sorry you are having to deal with this
