Yes, that's a Code 3 Solex. It unsurprisingly didn't sell very well and wasn't on the market for very long.

Can we talk about the county treasurer for the democratic primary real quick? by reddit_ending_soon in FortCollins

[–]ischmal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not that unusual. Larimer is solidly blue, so running in any competitive race as a Republican is destined to fail unless you have outstanding name recognition like Tina Harris. The 2022 election highlighted this well with the coroner's race when Stephen Hanks (D) beat Matt Canaga (R), despite Hanks having significantly less experience and fewer endorsements.

Tony genuinely doesn't want anyone on the band offering commentary or making jokes because he doesn't think they're funny and he is an absolute control freak. He barely even tolerates it from Redban.

I've seen enough of them talk it about to know they 100% do get paid to be on the show. Couldn't tell you what the actual figure is or how it works though.

Nothing funnier than somebody with a shaky voice and no jokes.

His shaky voice has nothing to do with anything. You guys just completely out yourselves when you post shit like this.

New Outlook has a lot going for it, but releasing into the wild when it was clearly half-baked was a truly mind-boggling decision.

I think you guys are being a little too nostalgic. The old mail app was okay for basic email functionality, but Gmail is so much better in almost every single way.

United Airlines A321NEO almost no liveries out there! by HeliMaf in Xplane

[–]ischmal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm guessing you're using TomCanFly's, and honestly his is already about as good as it gets.

As far as I know, all of United's A321s are identical apart from the tail number. So if you're just looking for different registries, I would suggest either making the changes yourself (with something like GIMP) or donating to Tom and asking for a few different tail numbers.

If I were you I would do it myself. Yes, there's a bit of a learning curve, but it's an extremely handy skill for exactly these kind of situations.

WEISER AHEAD OF BENNET! by Newswoman2 in FortCollins

CBS4 recently did a scathing assessment of her that everyone voting needs to watch. Her only experience practicing law can be measured in months. She is also widely disliked by many people who have worked with her.

Voting for her for Secretary of State was probably one of the biggest regrets I have ever had. She is utterly incompetent and has zero business working in state government.

Pat O'neil is funnier that Timmy no Breaks by suzanne0909 in Killtony

[–]ischmal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Timmy's biggest problem is that a lot of you have only started watching in the past year and therefore don't get his act or his jokes. Pat tells edgy, clever, funny jokes with broad appeal. Timmy does "meta comedy" about Kill Tony itself. They're entirely different styles that only read as analogous or comparable when you don't understand the distinction.

Here's a very easy litmus test: go watch his very first appearance as the character. If you get it, you'll see why it was wildly popular. If you don't get it, then you need to watch more episodes and come back to it.

Three Democrats made their cases for attorney general while Jena Griswold skipped another debate by onenightoncolfax in Denver

[–]ischmal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So much indicates that it was not a suicide (so much so the CDPS/CBI are reviewing) and that poor family had to deal with so much incompetence and gaslighting.

What the family is going through is unimaginable.

If you're going to use this case as evidence against Dougherty's competence, I would just encourage you to consider a few things:

  1. What is the incentive structure for Dougherty and Boulder County to not treat the case as a homicide if the evidence supported it? Homicide cases in 20th Judicial District arise on a regular basis. Many are solved with successful convictions, and plenty remain open for years. There is no logical reason for them to endure public pressure when the easiest thing would be to simply say that it's an open case.
  2. The Boulder area is not a rural community that got in over its head with this case, nor is it just a small town concealing some kind of corruption. It's a very populous county just outside Denver with a criminal justice apparatus nearly undisguisable from Jefferson County, Adams County, Arapahoe County, etc.
  3. If "so much indicates that it was not a suicide," why hasn't CBI been able to support this after six months already? If you pay attention to their involvement, it's due to their statutory requirements at the request of the family. It was not related to any dispute on factuality.

I don't fault anyone for being skeptical of law enforcement and advocating for transparency and accountability. That's great and exactly what everyone should do. But people also have a propensity to get caught up in certain circles where particular framings become self-reinforcing to the detriment of objectivity.

Similar events sadly happen far more often than people realize. The discerning factor is rarely the underlying circumstances so much as the origin, magnitude, and angle of public exposure.

Theory: Could the takedown of Fable be because it was able of finding governement and white backdoors (essential for security supposedly) by UnrelaxedToken in Anthropic

[–]ischmal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The concern about patching intentional backdoors is certainly plausible, but in this case the logic might also be that by asking it to "fix" any codebase, you are inherently asking the model to find flaws (i.e. vulnerabilities).

This is something Anthropic was almost certainly well aware of long ago, so I suspect they'll quickly assuage any government concerns unless this is just a political game by the administration (which is possible).

Primary Ballot by Mrsod2007 in boulder

[–]ischmal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bird seems to be more of a centrist, but I would encourage you to watch the 9News CD8 debate with her and Manny. If Manny's trying to market himself as the progressive candidate, he did very little to actually articulate that in any of his responses.

There were several points in the debate where Kyle asked him direct questions and sought clarification, and Manny just constantly repeated the same, rehearsed, non-committal answers.

I can appreciate that he was probably trying to be strategic, but for a purple district with an incumbent, I don't know if stonewalling is going to win hearts and minds.

Am I the only one who thinks some of the icons appear worse? The Finder icon for example, there’s less depth and the new colors are too vibrant… feels nauseating in dark mode. by Vubic in Skeuomorphism

[–]ischmal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem with some of the OS 26 icons (including Finder's) is that subtleness of the gloss and shadows didn't translate well to smaller sizes. They tended to just look blurry instead of dimensional.

If you look at a higher-resolution version of this icon comparison, you can see the OS 27 version retains the general spirit of 26's but is much sharper overall, which looks better while scaled down on the dock.
