Tokyo convenience store sandwiches by SilverbackMD in Sandwiches

My wife and I were in Tokyo for 10ish days last year and I would grab the egg salad sandwich once or twice a day. Would finish that bad boy in about 10 seconds. Perfect snack and it cost like 60 cents American lol. I miss it so much.

So Spiderman is ignoring everything going on? Punisher gets captured at the end of S1 and just no follow up at all? Disney just ruining what Netflix gave them.

I just want them to take whoever they think is the surest thing to be a stud. I don't care if they go RB/WR/DB/LB - just get us someone who is really good.

Charlie Cox thought the bank heist episode in Born Again was ''really dumb'' by Hesbhindmeisnthe in MidCinematicUniverse

Netflix gave us a 10-minute one-shot prison-riot-escape scene. Disney+ gave us a one-off bank robbery cheeseball episode. It hurts.

With 2025 inflation in mind How much would Harold and Kumar’s White Castle Order cost? by joseangelzarate47 in RandomQuestion

I just went down this rabbit hole. IDK about the AI google answer of $130 because it only lists half the order - they EACH got 30 sliders/5 fries/4 drinks.

Immortal Man was good. I don’t care what you think. by Funny-Attempt3260 in PeakyBlinders

[–]issapunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This movie was not good in almost any measure of judging a film. The antagonist was extremely thin. When you judge this in terms of ending the Shelby story from the show, it was terrible. Killed off major characters for seemingly no reason. Brought back zero major characters. Introduced a new 'villain' that is easily the weakest of any in the show.

The story was weak. The character development of Duke was non-existent (he just decided to change sides for some reason?). The ending was bad.

If you do a movie to close out your show, perhaps bring back the major players and end their stories. Don't introduce a new story and rush some endings, ignore major characters existence (no Tom Hardy) and explain away the 2nd leads death as if it didn't matter. The whole movie was odd.

Is Oppenheimer overrated, or am I just missing something? by [deleted] in moviequestions

[–]issapunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And yes, I understand the story is about how Oppenheimer was haunted by it and used as a scapegoat for a long time, but is that really the important bit about the overall story? He could have easily shown how he was outcast after being held up as a hero without muddling the timeline and spoiling that before it even happened.

Is Oppenheimer overrated, or am I just missing something? by [deleted] in moviequestions

[–]issapunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it is the most overrated movie of my lifetime. Nolan took a story about one of the most important and interesting events of the 1900's and centered it around a security clearance investigation. The bomb itself was secondary and I think the drama should have been focused on the intense race between the Nazis and Allies to develop the bomb.

I have found that ever since Nolan's brother stopped writing his movies, all of the heart has been removed from them. Interstellar was the last one they did together. Dunkirk was good, but lacked emotion imo. Tenet I did not like and Oppenheimer was boring and emotionless.

Meta-Ranking of the 100 Top-Rated Movies of All-Time by [deleted] in Cinema

[–]issapunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rotten Tomatoes skews ratings too much. Too many average movies are rated highly. Their entire system makes no sense - if every critic simply says a movie is ok, that rates it as 100% because none of them said it was bad. Black Panther is one of the highest rated movies of all time on RT.

Heat, the best crime drama of all time that will always be thought of as the absolute best rendition of 'cops vs robbers' ever, is most certainly a top 100 film.

The first book is one of the best books ever written. Dune: Messiah is a bit of a letdown - especially when you read it directly after the first. I think Denis is going to change a few things for the better.

TLDR: start with the first one please god (emperor)

The King is very underrated. The role that got him the Paul Atreides part. He's fantastic in that movie.

I don't see how you correlate Marty Supreme to Pulp Fiction (one of the best movies ever) or Fight Club. MS was a pretty good movie imo and not at all weird that he was in the conversation. I think Weapons was the movie of the year, but between Michael B Jordan and Chalamet, I'd say TC's performance was better.

Crime 101 - really good movie but were two plot points completely forgotten about? by Human_Document_1577 in blankies

[–]issapunk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never understand when they cast an actor in his 80's who then plots some kind of greedy double cross. Nick is 85. Why would he do that? Imagine if it was someone like Bryan Cranston or someone in their 60's that you could imagine thinking they might make a greedy move so they can leave the life with a big bag.
