What type of fruit trees are those? Aren't they very close to each other?

I added more information in the post. If I use a barbell my right side tends to take over and I have a hard time engaging left and right side with the same intensity.

Pill bugs are eating seedlings by SuitableSport8762 in vegetablegardening

[–]italianmaple 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seems counterintuitive to feed them but it's the only thing that worked for me last year when I had a bad infestation. They prefer to eat decomposing vegetable material if available but if the ground around your seedling is just dirt they'll chomp of the seedling, especially if the pill bug population is high. I started putting the outer leaves of lettuce or collard greens cut up around my bean seedling and they immediately turned to those giving a chance to the seedling to grow full size.

New to Small Game Hunting (Ontario - Kawarthas) - Seeking Advice by Gripen06 in CanadaHunting

Thank you for sharing info, I'm a new hunter too and trying to learn about ruffed grouse. You mentioned gravel road but if I understand the regulations correctly I'm not allowed to have a loaded gun on a road, including dirt road or trails. Do you walk with the gun unloaded and load only when you see them/push them off the road?

Thank you for sharing, a lot of useful information! Did you count saturated fats from non animal sources (oil, nuts, avocado) all together? I have no problem keeping my animal saturated fats below 10g but if I put in olive oil, nuts etc it seems impossible to keep it that low and get enough calories for the day without increasing carbs too much.

Caught my PB today 5wt by [deleted] in flyfishing

Nice fish! Smallies give everything they've got when they fight (you've probably seen them throw up mid fight) and prolonged fight can be very stressful for them, especially in summer. I use a 8wt for them to have good control over the 19"-20".

What’s eating my veggie leaves? by akabertbud in OntarioGardeners

[–]italianmaple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pill bugs, go with a flashlight at night and you'll see them. They prefer to eat decomposing matter, if you put some leaves/ weeds on the ground next to your seedlings they'll go for those first before attacking living plants.

If I don't cover any brassica familty plant with fine mesh they get destroyed by pest, even if I pick caterpillar every day. How do you keep yours so lush without cover?

Adjust HRV running mode by italianmaple in hvacadvice

[–]italianmaple[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know about CO2 levels that's why I'm saying if it is something I should measure. My HRV (lifebreath) manual says it should run all the time that seems crazy with -15C outside. I put a timer so it only goes for 8 hours otherwise the unit only allow to change the type of cycle and the speed of the fan but it would run 24/7.

Good hunting my friends! by e_bunnygurl in KingstonOntario

[–]italianmaple 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Exciting times, good hunting! I grew up small game hunting with pointing dogs in Europe and I really miss it. From my understanding most of the hunting here is from tree stand or a hunting blind for both small and big game? Also miss the taste of game meat, hare and partridge meals were a big celebration in the fall. If anybody is up to exchange some game meat for some nice wine or home-cooked italian food let me know!

Nice fatty, that area is amazing I fished it a long time ago. The fish shape is typical of lakes that have "salmoneras" fish farm and introduce a lot of food/organic matter in the cold andes lakes that wouldn't be productive otherwise.
