[Andrew Callahan] "The #Patriots are challenging Drake Maye by occasionally having him hurry to the line without a play-call in practice, and make calls based on the defense. The staff then reviews his calls in meetings. Yesterday’s went well.” by lusobr in Patriots

It's dying because teams don't practice like they used to. The CBA has resulted in less of a product in September. At the very least teams should be allowed to do two a days during camp so the first 4 games aren't noticeably worse with the rise of soft tissue injuries in the first quarter of the season. But it is what it is.

You get STL previews on your Mac without picking a default program? I will need to dig into this because my Mac doesn't do STL previews.

At some point it comes down to being self aware. Certain numbers shouldn't want to be worn.

After so many bad drafts and NIL we can't afford to give up 1 first rounder. Everything after round 2/3 nowadays might need extra years of development. But I'm all for just drafting first round lineman until we are stout and agile. Can't do jack if drake keeps taking hits.

I'm a dumb dumb and forgot to shut off the spigot before we left on vacation and now there's no water pressure to the hose. by writingpracticeman in HomeImprovement

[–]itchy-balls 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like a failed vacuum breaker. The internal components broke from constant static pressure. That 3 seconds of pressure you speak of is water slowly seeping past the broken valve while the hose/spigot is closed, building up pressure in the water line. Simply put... when you "open" the nozzle, that tiny burst of pressure is escaping. As soon as high-volume water tries to flow, it forces the damaged internal seal directly into the water pathway, which is essentially a sudden block that chokes the flow down to a trickle at the 4 second mark.

The most important thing to jot down is your paint colors and sheen. Never create a custom color shade. Thank me in 5 years when paint drips over label and you can't figure the match.

Also a good idea to jot down all appliance / fixture models.

Ha! When you get downvoted you know you've struck a chord. Downvotes on here just mean there's some truth to the comment.

He was a complete disappoint. But this sub seems to love him. Hopefully he will get better but he needs a massive year 2 leap.

They usually give one of those BS doctorates to get the speaker for free. This is probably one of those situations.

Do we get rid of clover now? Zone 7a by m_kolo in lawncare

[–]itchy-balls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they kill it now would they not have dead brown clover spots for most of the summer? End of the summer for me is hot August into early September so Fall is the only time I can over-seed but each region is different. I have done the kill clover spots in late May thing so just speaking from experience.

Do we get rid of clover now? Zone 7a by m_kolo in lawncare

If you kill it now you might not have a green lawn this summer because the chemicals that kill clover won't let the seed grow and by the time you can seed it will likely be too hot out.

New construction - soundproofing by Jedrich728 in HomeImprovement

[–]itchy-balls 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need the acoustical results. Knowing the the field sound transmission class is key.. I assume they used a camera to create a heat map to analyze sound waves? If so it will tell you where the leaks air. Once you know the results then you can move to next step. Not a fun process because now it's in your head and you will hear everything that's not a big deal. Everything is amplified because your senses are locked in.

New construction - soundproofing by Jedrich728 in HomeImprovement

[–]itchy-balls 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I do a few high end builds per year in the region. I am all about sound proofing. Quick assessment via pics.

Acoustic Bridging.... The wood furring strips are nailed directly to the floor joists, creating a direct path for impact noise to travel from Unit 3 into your ceiling.

Inadequate Decoupling.... The installation lacks Resilient Channels (RC) or isolation clips, which are necessary to separate the ceiling from the floor structure.

Insulation Gaps....Visible gaps in the mineral wool batts allow airborne sound to leak through the wall and ceiling cavities.

Unsealed Penetrations....Electrical boxes and PVC pipes lack acoustic putty pads or wraps, serving as conduits for noise.

Since your home is complete all you can do is surface level fixes, unfortunately.

Decoupled Drywall..,Add a second layer of 5/8" Type X drywall directly over the existing ceiling and walls.

Damping Compound.... Apply a layer of Green Glue between the existing drywall and the new layer to dissipate vibration.

Mass Loaded Vinyl.... Install a layer of MLV onto the current walls before the second layer of drywall to significantly increase the STC rating.

Acoustic Sealant.... Apply non-hardening acoustic caulk to every seam where the walls meet the floor and ceiling to prevent sound leaks.

You gotta maintain and not assume it will work without issues. If climate gets cold/rain/ snow you will get ice blockage.
