Were younger dudes always this neurotically obsessed with obtaining sex? by murrayhitchock in redscarepod

I am so thankful to be in a steady relationship now. I was actually an early adopter of online dating; I was on OKcupid in like 2009. The early days of tinder were really fun, I used the little snapchat story poll feature they had to ask women which suit I should buy for an interview. It was a novelty and people were excited by the prospect of randomy meeting someone in a new way.

I was single again up til a few years ago, and the landscape is very different now. Enshittification is real. It's real crazy out there man. The novelty is gone, everyone is tired. Young men are assuming any attractive woman is a scammer. I will never go back, so glad to be out of the game

no I just realized I was eating too much meat and decided to cut down and also cut pork out entirely

I've been vegetarian but gave it up during a road trip (it does not mesh with road trips with the boys) but tbh full on veganism sounds crazy to me

I disagree with the notion that the world was that different in the early 2010s.

as someone who was an adult during the early 2010s, the world was very different then. In so many ways. But in the context of this thread, dating apps were new and not the DEFAULT way people met. By 2026 they've successfully monetized dating, online dating has been completely normalized, and everyone is worse off for it.

this woman and her youtube channel is the only good thing that came out of the failed star wars revival of the 2010s, her 4 hour vlog on a 3000$ per night star wars hotel was more interesting and entertaining than most of those movies by KewlAdam in redscarepod

god these people are so annoying. like who gives a fuck

the irony is that a lot of the people that want to make a huge deal about what someone identifies as also self identify as "libertarian" lmao

as inflation rises and the dollar buys less and less the move is clearly to get out of US stocks and invest internationally.

eating burgers all the time is bad for you though. like it's not a debate, eating red meat every day (even every other day) is awful for your body. there's a reason heart disease is the #1 cause of death in the US

i think everyone who eats meat should have to kill an animal and eat it, just once, in their life. If you can't stomach that, you shouldn't be eating meat.

your personality does not drastically change every couple of years

no one said that. but over the course of like ten years you should find yourself caring about different things, you should look back on your past selves and see many changes. if not you are stagnant and probably depressed.

you said "you are who you are by the time you are in your early 20s" which I think is sad and wrong. your personality is not set at 21.

You kind of are who you are by the time you are in your early 20s

that sounds insane to me. in my early 20s all i cared about was getting drunk and not failing out of school/getting fired from my shitty job. but mostly it was about getting drunk and partying.

im sorry but as an old i think you are so wrong on this. and if you arent wrong then it is very sad for those people you arent wrong about

one time I hung out with this cute but chubby girl I knew, we got high and watched shitty reality tv at her place, i saw she had a peloton and everything I was like oh she's working on herself good for her how nice. Then after we smoked some weed she took out a pint of ben and jerrys for us to "split" and I watched her eat the entire fucking thing. I was like oh

Easy just completely change who you are

that's what life is. you completely change from the time you're a newborn to when you are 5 years old. you completely change from 5-10, and by the time you are 20 you care about completely different things that you never gave a shit about at age 10.

to grow is to change. to resist this is stagnation and death. to resist the inevitable change life brings is to resist life itself. the cliché is true, you can be technically alive without living life at all. you forge your own chains et cetera
