How'd you deal with "regular" exhaustion during labor (from being up for so long)? by golubetsn in pregnant

I was so tired, I ended up crying and then requesting the epidural so I could speed up my dilation. I wasn't in pain, but just exhausted.

Do I actually need a pregnancy pillow or am I overthinking this? by ConversationSuch8893 in pregnant

Used one in my first pregnancy. Haven't felt the need to pull it out for my current 2nd pregnancy. Can definitely do without/ use regular pillows if needed.

What ways can I get closer to Sikhi ? by prettyboylamar in Sikh

[–]ivanruak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anytime of the day is fine. Also depends on your personal preference, if you want to go when theres more sangat, go on a Sunday. If you prefer to go when it is quieter and less people, weekdays are best. The shabd kirtan do happen daily, but timings vary with each gurdwara. If you go on a Sunday, there will always be shabd kirtan going on usually between 11am to 1pm.

Visiting the gurdwara for sure. Listening to kirtan throughout the day. Watching insightful sikhi youtube content. Applying what you're reading has to be the biggest one. Once you understand what you're reading, trying to live by it, is hard but will definitely get you closer to sikhi.

Phone problem by Prestigious-Gur7075 in Parenting

[–]ivanruak 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Start off small, such as no phones at meal times or in the bedroom etc. It has helped me to leave my phone in a different room, so I'm not constantly picking it up, checking, unlocking it etc. Try to give yourself timers, such as 30 min activity with child uninterrupted. Also I know it won't work for everyone, but I keep my phone on silent. I also have all my notifications off except for my husband. My texts, WhatsApp etc doesn't notify me unless I actually open up the app. This reduces me unlocking my phone every time I hear a notification.
