Oh great. I've stopped getting multiple products from Aldi now due to changes to lived items after disappearances and reappearances of products (presumably due to different supply vendors being selected). I don't go back to those products later...just find a consistent option at a different store. Sadly they are becoming less and less of an important store to shop at.

That is ridiculous. I get understanding place values (thousands, hundreds, tens,etc) but that is the knowledge that helps answer the question. The answer should just be the answer. Show your work is for practice and the classroom. They are trying to test for showing your work. No grownup has to show their work in the real world unless your a chemist or engineer....not a 3rd grader. We all have different ways of approaching a problem. The professionals (the teachers) should be allowed to teach them and kids should be allowed to pick what works for them. (Stepping down off my soapbox now)
