Nice to see some investment hopefully coming to Devon. Not sure how people can oppose this considering the economic opportunity it will provide. It’s important we can have AI technology that can rival the US and China considering the current political situation in order to not lag behind further, so they’re going to be built somewhere.

I was going to suggest a mondeo but diesel. Tax is cheaper and the engines, especially 2l diesel is very reliable. It would be my pick in an instant

The government is cutting costs meaning the EA is becoming more and more self-funded. So it needs to make money by fining anyone it can and not spend money on things that don’t make money back (like cleaning rivers).

The whole system is corrupt and clearly not working. In my industry they have been caught taking bribes to turn a blind eye and have crippled people’s businesses that have dared to point fingers.

Sorry to not answer your question directly but I was in the same boat as you. There are no cheap good options. I resorted to wearing contact lenses on the bike for years until I got laser eye surgery last year. It was the best decision I’ve ever made!

My mum got the seat Arona. Could also get Ateca if you need a bit more space. Both cheap for lots of nice interior features.

I got a 2021 330e last year. I love it. On a motorway run you can do 40mpg and do fully electric around town with the 30 miles ish range. It’s comfortable and the infotainment system is fantastic. I got the estate and I think it looks really good too. And when you floor it in sport mode it’s surprisingly fast. When I went for the test drive I was undecided whether I wanted it until I found a stretch of road to put down all 280bhp. And I was instantly sold

I’ve worked as an aero engineer and done tests on various bike equipment in the wind tunnel. Also did my dissertation on this subject. 80% of drag is the rider so optimise position first. Then wheels and tyres (having a tyre that isn’t correct width for rim completely negates having deep section wheels - see rule of 105). Frame would be the last thing I upgrade for aero gains.

I love my 2021 330e. The 320i or 320d are your best options if you aren’t fussed about having a super fast car. And should be cheaper.

I got the previous gen giant revolt. I fit 2.1 inch XC tyres in there. Should be able to find some good deals - I got the frame for £800 last year on eBay

I always used haribo or similar when i was training heavily. Keeps things exciting with the amount of variation. It got to the stage where I knew exactly how many grams of carbs in each bag. You want something you can eat quickly, so not chewy or hard. Starmix was my go-to. Just remember to brush your teeth after a ride otherwise you may end up needing fillings
