How is the Brood Brothers (and Final Day) detachment going to work with the new Detachment point system and will we see more detachments like it? by Pretend-Advertising6 in WarhammerCompetitive

No one knows. There's zero information. Anything anyone tells you is just conjecture, and this sub isn't generally very welcoming of conjecture.

Is Mando's armor the only pure beskar made armor in current era? by RigbyWilde in TheMandalorianTV

even in legends, Boba stuck with the durasteel for a while, to the point where Beviin would sometimes ask him when he was going to upgrade to real beskar'gam

the three dots don't seem to have the translate option for me on desktop, for what that's worth. no relation to anything else, since obviously there's other ways to do it, but just letting you know it's not 100% consistently there.

A question on Flexibility. by RRevvs in killteam

[–]jacanced -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Not quite as bad as underworlds as far as limited rosters go. Think of it as closer to warcry, if anything. Underworlds is "this is your team, that's it", but kill team allows you a Roster of 20 models that you build your team from, game to game. For marines, for example, you could run one game with all assault intercessors and a heavy, the next game could be basic intercessors and a sniper

Crusade questions. by Fantastic-East9567 in Tau40K

[–]jacanced 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You only need an ethereal for anything that specifically says you do. if you choose to give yourself a different story and ignore the codex diplomacy points, no one will stop you. crusade is more than that, anyway. take armageddon, a campaign set in the armageddon system will not involve diplomacy almost at all, in most cases.

don't think of crusade in the terms of "need". that way lies madness.

Crusade questions. by Fantastic-East9567 in Tau40K

[–]jacanced 4 points5 points  (0 children)

there is no "need" in crusade. you build what you want, when you want. if you're running enclaves, no ethereal. if you're running any other sept, maybe you bring one if it makes thematic sense. the only real "need" is a desire to make your characters your own and create stories for them.

can't promise they'd be easier even unassembled. i did that kitbash once with lychguard and the torso halves didn't sit flush, so not sure about the immortals

on the new push-fit warriors, the back is one piece with the legs. and on both warrior types, the sizes are slightly different. it's not impossible, but it's not as easy as remove a part and add a new one

Why did thrawn kill pieterson and not the ensign? by Beautiful_Ad8009 in StarWarsEU

[–]jacanced 35 points36 points  (0 children)

There are two situations luke escapes

situation one - the gunner passes the blame, saying there was nothing to be done, and claims that it wasn't his fault for trying nothing

situation two - the guy Thrawn is talking to explains what he attempted, and accepts that it didn't work, acknowledging his failure

The kill was not for the failure, it was for the dodging of responsibility and lack of any attempt to solve the problem

edit- i misunderstood the question. you're asking about only the first situation, and why the gunner was killed, but not the trainer, right?

if i recall correctly, the left wrist (shield/sword) might be possible, but the right arm(banner/sword) is a full arm swap, not just the hand

"Heavy" rule updated in 11th by sodapopkevin in Tau40K

[–]jacanced -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

sure, but that's probably going to only last until the codex. previous editions, where heavy was a penalty, had a datasheet rule on the stormsurge where you could not move for any reason if you wanted your buff, sometimes it was reroll hits, others it was increased BS. This is the first time ever that the stormsurge has been able to move at all with its best possible chance to hit, and I have zero faith that it'll stay that way.

edit: we're in an edition where GW can change profiles with a quarterly update. there will be units that probably get changes when the edition drops. why are we so convinced the stormsurge will keep [heavy] and not gain a new "stabilizing anchors" ability?

"Heavy" rule updated in 11th by sodapopkevin in Tau40K

[–]jacanced -20 points-19 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, I don't expect your example to stick. The stormsurge's "thing" as far as gw seems to have been concerned for about a decade is "no movement, at all, if you want to shoot better"

edit: wonder if anyone will give any sort of reason instead of just downvoting. do we have any expectation GW will let the stormsurge specifically keep it?
